About

Alan-13 Reformation, released in 2023, is an intriguing isometric puzzle game that challenges players to think like programmers. Blending casual, indie, and strategy elements, the game stands out for its unique gameplay mechanics that require logical problem-solving and strategic foresight. Players navigate through various puzzles that not only stimulate the mind but also immerse them in a captivating narrative experience.

When it comes to PC performance, Alan-13 Reformation is quite accessible, ensuring that a wide range of gamers can enjoy it. The game runs smoothly on entry-level GPUs, with a minimum requirement of around 300 for an optimal experience. Players with 2 GB RAM can appreciate decent FPS at lower graphics settings, making it a flexible choice for those with modest hardware. Even integrated graphics may handle the game well, depending on system configurations.

Should you play Alan-13 Reformation? If you enjoy indie games that stimulate your intellect and are looking for a strategic challenge, this title comes highly recommended. Its low system requirements paired with engaging gameplay make it a worthwhile addition to your gaming library.

Performance profile

As a strategy title, Alan-13 Reformation is typically CPU-bound rather than GPU-bound — single-thread CPU performance dictates framerate during large-scale battles, end-game saves and late-game AI turns. A fast modern 6-core will help more than a GPU upgrade.

Extremely light — Alan-13 Reformation runs at 60 FPS 1080p on any integrated GPU (Intel Iris Xe, AMD Radeon Graphics) or a decade-old discrete card like the GTX 1050. A current-gen RTX 4060 pushes 4K Ultra without effort.

Storyline

In 2177 (30 years after the initial launch of the first units) the terraformation of planet Venus was right on track. Then, for yet undiscovered reasons the sun started expressing unusual behavior with regular solar flares and massive CMEs on a scale we never experienced before. These effects essentially destroyed our electrical infrastructure on the surface, and the lingering disturbance in the electromagnetic field makes regular means of communication unreliable. To conquer these challenges and to restore the infrastructure, our mechanical engineers updated our general purpose robot (ALAN series) with heavy shielding and additional hardware that we may require. Your task (as our only engineer on location with background in automation) is to make these units fully autonomous and self-sustaining because remote communication is not guaranteed at any point. For this task, you can build the microcontroller for ALAN-13 by using our tried and tested GENESIS components. Furthermore, you have to equip the robot with the right set of peripherals for any given mission.
