About

Astrea: Six-Sided Oracles, released in 2023, is a unique blend of casual and indie strategy gameplay. This dice-deck-building roguelike invites players to immerse themselves in a lost civilization as one of six distinct Oracles. The game features an innovative mechanic where players utilize a constantly evolving deck of dice to combat waves of Corrupted enemies, all while aiming to purify a decayed goddess to save their Star System. Its engaging mechanics and rich storytelling make it a notable title in the indie game scene.

In terms of PC performance, Astrea: Six-Sided Oracles is quite accessible, requiring only an entry-level GPU for smooth gameplay. With a minimum score of around 800 on popular GPU benchmarking tests, players can expect satisfactory FPS on cards like the NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1030 or AMD Radeon RX 550. The game performs well even on systems with just 4 GB of RAM, making it an excellent choice for gamers with lower-end hardware who seek enjoyable experiences without demanding graphical settings.

Should you play Astrea: Six-Sided Oracles? If you enjoy strategy games with a roguelike twist and solid reviews from players, this title is worth considering. Its unique gameplay mechanics combined with a captivating art style elevate it above many other indie games, making it a solid choice for casual and strategy enthusiasts alike.

Performance profile

September 2023 release. As a current-generation title, Astrea: Six-Sided Oracles pushes modern hardware — expect to need an RTX 40-series or RX 7000-series GPU to enjoy it at native 4K Ultra without leaning on upscaling.

As a strategy title, Astrea: Six-Sided Oracles is typically CPU-bound rather than GPU-bound — single-thread CPU performance dictates framerate during large-scale battles, end-game saves and late-game AI turns. A fast modern 6-core will help more than a GPU upgrade.

Extremely light — Astrea: Six-Sided Oracles runs at 60 FPS 1080p on any integrated GPU (Intel Iris Xe, AMD Radeon Graphics) or a decade-old discrete card like the GTX 1050. A current-gen RTX 4060 pushes 4K Ultra without effort.

Storyline

Long ago - when ancient ruins were once flourishing civilizations and their populace lived in idyllic bliss - a mystical star governed all. Loyal disciples, called Six-Sided Oracles, were blessed by their star, granting them the strength to seal away the gift of heavenly bodies within mystic relics. All was perfect and harmonious. Until that one fateful day - The Crimson Dawn Cataclysm. A ferocious inferno sundered down from the sky, engulfing the entirety of the star system, crumbling the foundations of their society and corrupting the souls of the weak-willed. The disciples of the star were lost to the chaos - their creations scattered across a vast world of ruin. Could there still exist those who were capable of wielding their power? Eons later, brave young scions awoke to a mysterious call beckoning them to the ruins of the ancient disaster. It is there they find the lost six-faced relics of legend and writings detailing the original Six-Sided Oracles, a vengeful deity, and a Corruption Plague. The new Six-Sided Oracles embark on a journey to save their star system and search for the secrets of their destructive history.
