About

Bedlamball, released in 2018, is an indie sports strategy game that delivers a unique and dynamic gameplay experience. Players engage in a goal-scoring contest where the rules evolve as you play, creating a constantly shifting challenge that keeps the game fresh and engaging. Its quirky premise and innovative approach to gameplay make it a notable entry in the indie gaming scene.

For players looking to run Bedlamball smoothly, the game is quite accessible in terms of hardware requirements. It can be played on an entry-level GPU, with a minimum score of around 114, and just 1 GB of RAM. This means that even budget-friendly systems can manage decent FPS, allowing users to enjoy the game without the need for high-end specifications. Adjusting graphics settings can further enhance performance for those with older hardware while maintaining a solid gaming experience.

Should you play Bedlamball? If you enjoy indie games that combine sports and strategy with a unique twist, it's worth checking out. With favorable reviews highlighting its entertaining gameplay, Bedlamball presents a refreshing option for gamers seeking something different while still being accessible on various PC configurations.

Performance profile

April 2018 release. Bedlamball was built around the GTX 10-series / RX Vega era. Current-gen mid-range cards (RTX 4060 / RX 7600) are overkill at 1080p and handle 1440p Ultra comfortably.

As a strategy title, Bedlamball is typically CPU-bound rather than GPU-bound — single-thread CPU performance dictates framerate during large-scale battles, end-game saves and late-game AI turns. A fast modern 6-core will help more than a GPU upgrade.

Extremely light — Bedlamball runs at 60 FPS 1080p on any integrated GPU (Intel Iris Xe, AMD Radeon Graphics) or a decade-old discrete card like the GTX 1050. A current-gen RTX 4060 pushes 4K Ultra without effort.

Storyline

Inspired by "Calvinball", from the comic "Calvin and Hobbes" by Bill Watterson, Bedlamball plays a bit like air hockey. Each player attempts to knock the ball into the other player's goal, but both sides can modify rules and mechanics of the game in the middle of the match to their advantage. Opponent about to score? Shrink the goal! Far behind in points? Change the scoring method! Just remember everything you change affects your opponent in the same way! Hilariously chaotic, while also surprisingly strategic, you never have to play the same way twice.
