About
Citrouille: Sweet Witches, released in 2018, is an indie game that offers a modern twist on classic arcade gameplay. Players navigate through whimsical environments, using magical ladders to cover the world in flowers while overcoming various dangers. This charming title encourages solo play, cooperative sessions, or engaging in competitive mode, making it a delightful homage to retro gaming.
In terms of PC performance, Citrouille is quite accessible, designed to run smoothly even on entry-level hardware. The minimum GPU requirement is approximately 400 points, allowing a wide range of players with modest setups to achieve playable FPS at lower graphics settings. For optimal performance, a budget GPU such as the AMD Radeon R7 or NVIDIA GeForce GT 720 should ensure a satisfying gaming experience.
With a rating of 70/100, Citrouille: Sweet Witches is a fun option for fans of indie games and nostalgic arcade adventures. If you enjoy light-hearted gameplay and engaging challenges, this title is certainly worth your time, especially if you appreciate vibrant visuals and a unique cooperative experience.
Performance profile
October 2018 release. Citrouille: Sweet Witches was built around the GTX 10-series / RX Vega era. Current-gen mid-range cards (RTX 4060 / RX 7600) are overkill at 1080p and handle 1440p Ultra comfortably.
Indie and casual titles are typically light on hardware. Citrouille: Sweet Witches runs well on almost any modern GPU, including integrated graphics on recent laptops — you won't need a dedicated card for a smooth experience.
Extremely light — Citrouille: Sweet Witches runs at 60 FPS 1080p on any integrated GPU (Intel Iris Xe, AMD Radeon Graphics) or a decade-old discrete card like the GTX 1050. A current-gen RTX 4060 pushes 4K Ultra without effort.
Storyline
Citrouille is an arcade platformer featuring adorable little witches on a quest for candy. Despite the childish appearance, the gameplay is merciless. There is no jump, you have to rely on your magic ladders, spells and power ups to get through. Brave the danger, face your nemesis, cover the world with flowers and claim the treats you deserve! Story Mode: Play as Praline or Vanille, the two main characters, through 50+ levels within 5+ unique worlds. If going through the quest on your own feels too hard, you can cooperate with a friend on a shared screen. But beware, for both players share the same life counter. Also, your spells and weapons make no difference between friends and foes. Versus Mode: Two to four players can face each others on a shared screen. Anis and Reglisse, the two antagonists, are joining the fray to claim their share. There are two different modes with 5 unique arenas for each: Death match: the last one standing wins Time limit: the player with the most flowers on screen when the time is over wins Features: Four playable witches, with a unique spell each Cover the ground with flowers to win and charge your power No jump, summon magic ladders to make your way through Open surprise gift boxes to find deadly weapons and crush your foes Cooperate with a friend in story mode or settle the score in versus mode on shared screen A 30 minute-long story mode, if you don’t die, but you will… Enchanting graphics
