About

Dead or Alive 3, released in 2001, is the third entry in the acclaimed fighting game series known for its fast-paced gameplay and vibrant graphics. This installment introduced players to new characters, enhanced lighting effects, and interactive environments, making each battle feel dynamic and engaging. With the option for up to four players to compete, the game not only appealed to solo gamers but also to those seeking thrilling multiplayer experiences.

When it comes to performance, Dead or Alive 3 is relatively accessible for modern systems. To achieve smooth FPS and solid gameplay, players should consider using an entry-level GPU with a minimum score of around 686 in benchmarks. With a requirement of just 2 GB of RAM, most contemporary PCs can handle the game well, especially with moderate graphics settings, allowing users to enjoy its stylish combat without the need for high-end hardware.

Given its score of 76 out of 100, Dead or Alive 3 offers a solid experience for fans of the fighting genre. If you appreciate competitive gameplay and unique character designs, this title is certainly worth a try, especially for those looking to explore classic titles in the fighting game arena.

Performance profile

Released in November 2001, Dead or Alive 3 comes from the DirectX 9 era. Even the cheapest modern discrete GPU crushes it at maxed-out settings; the only real bottleneck today is CPU single-thread speed on older titles that were never multi-threaded.

Extremely light — Dead or Alive 3 runs at 60 FPS 1080p on any integrated GPU (Intel Iris Xe, AMD Radeon Graphics) or a decade-old discrete card like the GTX 1050. A current-gen RTX 4060 pushes 4K Ultra without effort.

Storyline

The hero ninja Ryu Hayabusa put a stop to the evil doings of Tengu, but it was too late to stop him from triggering a massive worldwide collapse. A dense cloud covered the entire planet in a shroud of darkness and fear. DOATEC has gone astray, turning into the hunting grounds for power-hungry scam artists. This is when DOATEC's development department (a fortress for state-of-the-art military technology) witnesses the success of a genius. Following Project Alpha and Project Epsilon, the ever ambitious scientist, Dr. Victor Donovan completes the Omega Project, producing a new superhuman: Genra. The man, who was once leader of the Hajin Mon ninja of the Mugen Tenshin clan, is no longer human, but a force of singular and unprecedented capabilities known as Omega. To test the subject Omega's skills, DOATEC announced the third Dead or Alive World Combat Championship.
