About

Fading Visage, released in 2018, is a captivating indie horror game that invites players to delve into its eerie environments and unravel a dark secret. With a strong focus on exploration and atmospheric storytelling, the game places you in an abandoned house where you’ll encounter a haunting spirit beckoning you to discover the truth behind a long-forgotten incident. Its unique blend of mystique and horror sets it apart within the indie genre.

When it comes to PC performance, Fading Visage is quite accessible, requiring only entry-level hardware to run smoothly. The game notably demands a minimum GPU score of around 400, allowing players with basic graphics cards to achieve playable FPS at lower graphics settings. With just 2 GB of RAM needed, even older systems can manage this title, making it a viable option for casual gamers and those seeking a spooky experience without hefty performance overhead.

Given its low rating of 30/100, Fading Visage may not appeal to everyone, particularly seasoned gamers seeking intense gameplay or high production value. However, if you're a fan of indie horror with a penchant for exploration and mystery, this title could offer a worthwhile experience despite its flaws.

Performance profile

May 2018 release. Fading Visage was built around the GTX 10-series / RX Vega era. Current-gen mid-range cards (RTX 4060 / RX 7600) are overkill at 1080p and handle 1440p Ultra comfortably.

Indie and casual titles are typically light on hardware. Fading Visage runs well on almost any modern GPU, including integrated graphics on recent laptops — you won't need a dedicated card for a smooth experience.

Extremely light — Fading Visage runs at 60 FPS 1080p on any integrated GPU (Intel Iris Xe, AMD Radeon Graphics) or a decade-old discrete card like the GTX 1050. A current-gen RTX 4060 pushes 4K Ultra without effort.

Storyline

Where am I? This place frightens me. How can I get out of here? I've lost my way in a thick fog. Wherever I go, I keep coming back here, again and again, as if I have to finish something. I can dimly remember that I've been here already... What are these shadows? Ghosts? I don't believe in ghosts! They're coming closer... Are they real? They don't let me escape from this damned place... How can I make them let me go? Be careful, it's dangerous to go at night to the haunted forest. However you have to be wary even in the daytime, and if the strange entities start to chase you, run for your life! At the end of the game (if you're lucky enough to make it through – it's not so easy to survive here) you'll find out what brought you to this creepy place. ...And the moment when you'll discover the truth will be as much horrible as all the events you'll witness before it.
