About

Five Nights at Freddy's 2 (2014) is an indie horror game that tasks you with surviving the night shift at an upgraded pizza restaurant filled with animatronic characters. The gameplay focuses on resource management and strategic camera monitoring as you fend off increasingly aggressive robots, creating a tense atmosphere despite the simple visual presentation. The game became a cultural phenomenon due to its creative premise and effective jump scares, spawning a massive franchise.

FNAF 2 is extremely lightweight and accessible to virtually any modern PC. With only 1 GB RAM required, even integrated graphics can maintain 60 FPS at high settings, making GPU demands negligible. You'll see excellent performance benchmarks across budget GPUs and older hardware, and the game runs smoothly on entry-level systems. Performance won't be a concern here, so you can focus entirely on the horror experience without worrying about frame drops or graphical compromises.

If you enjoy indie horror games with a unique premise, Five Nights at Freddy's 2 is worth experiencing despite its 74/100 rating. The game's cultural impact and creative animatronic designs make it a notable entry in horror gaming history, even if some find the mechanics repetitive.

Performance profile

Released in November 2014, Five Nights at Freddy's 2 sits in the DirectX 11 generation. Comfortable on any modern mid-range GPU at 1440p; even an RTX 3050 or RX 6600 typically delivers 4K60 at High settings.

Indie and casual titles are typically light on hardware. Five Nights at Freddy's 2 runs well on almost any modern GPU, including integrated graphics on recent laptops — you won't need a dedicated card for a smooth experience.

Extremely light — Five Nights at Freddy's 2 runs at 60 FPS 1080p on any integrated GPU (Intel Iris Xe, AMD Radeon Graphics) or a decade-old discrete card like the GTX 1050. A current-gen RTX 4060 pushes 4K Ultra without effort.

Storyline

Freddy Fazbear's Pizzeria is a family-friendly restaurant themed around lovable animatronics that sing during the day, a place of fun and joy for children and parents alike. At night, however, the restaurant takes a dark turn, and those same animatronics take to roaming the halls of the pizzeria. As the new night shift security guard, Jeremy Fitzgerald has to work the night shift, from 12-6 AM, for 5 days. Jeremy's job as the night guard is to watch over the animatronics via cameras around the pizzeria, using a flashlight to see inside dark areas - including the shadowed, doorless hallway that leads into the office.
