About
Kingdom Draw, released in 2022, is a free-to-play indie strategy game that merges challenging turn-based tactics with customizable card collection mechanics. Set against a richly crafted medieval fantasy backdrop, players can engage in captivating single-player campaigns, exploring the unique narratives of four factions: Humans, Undead, Orcs, and Elves. This blend of genres makes Kingdom Draw notable for those who appreciate strategic depth and a compelling storyline.
In terms of PC performance, Kingdom Draw is quite accessible, with a minimum GPU requirement of an entry-level graphics card, typically achieving a benchmark score of around 1500. This means that players with basic setups can expect a stable FPS even at moderate graphics settings, making it an excellent choice for casual gamers and those new to the strategy genre. For optimal performance, a mid-range GPU is recommended to ensure fluid gameplay and enhance visual fidelity.
If you enjoy strategy games that offer a rich blend of storytelling and tactical gameplay, Kingdom Draw is definitely worth a try. With positive community feedback and its engaging free-to-play model, it caters to both casual players and those seeking deeper strategic challenges in their gaming experience.
Performance profile
Released in July 2022, Kingdom Draw targets RTX 20/30-series and RX 6000-era hardware. A current mid-range GPU (RTX 4060 Ti / RX 7700 XT) is the sweet spot for 1440p Ultra; 4K needs a high-end card.
As a strategy title, Kingdom Draw is typically CPU-bound rather than GPU-bound — single-thread CPU performance dictates framerate during large-scale battles, end-game saves and late-game AI turns. A fast modern 6-core will help more than a GPU upgrade.
Extremely light — Kingdom Draw runs at 60 FPS 1080p on any integrated GPU (Intel Iris Xe, AMD Radeon Graphics) or a decade-old discrete card like the GTX 1050. A current-gen RTX 4060 pushes 4K Ultra without effort.
Storyline
Humans: The Human kingdom has suffered much destruction and loss at the hands of an ever-growing dark cult. Many have lost hope. In the Human campaign, play as the young paladin, Leora, and use powers gifted by the Shard of Light to purge the forces of darkness and return hope to the people. Undead: A dark cult is raising armies of Undead while spreading death and corruption throughout the land. In the Undead campaign, play as the cultist, Xerus, compelled by a dark master. Use your newly imbued powers to enact The Shadow's Will and unveil your destiny. Orcs: Throughout the years, the Orcish shamans have felt the power of the Earth and Fire Elementals wane. A series of cataclysmic events has brought death to many strong Orc warriors. Meanwhile, the Elven Forests bloom and spread ever further. In the Orc campaign, play as the Elder shaman Toral, convinced the forests are restricting the flow of power and use what power remains to wreak destruction and fire across the Elven lands. Elves: Corruption taints the great Elven Forests, a slow decay is setting in and ancient creatures lay slain. Unrest is spreading and war threatens on multiple fronts. In the Elf campaign, play as the druid Varen and root out the corrupting source to restore the former peace and harmony of the Forests.
