About
Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker, released in 2010, is an action-adventure stealth game renowned for its blend of shooter and tactical strategy elements. As the third action-focused title designed specifically for the PSP, it introduces players to two primary modes: Mission, which involves engaging in stealthy infiltrations and boss battles, and Mother Base, a unique army management system. This duality of gameplay sets Peace Walker apart in the iconic Metal Gear series, offering both strategic depth and exhilarating action.
For PC gamers interested in smooth performance while playing Peace Walker, it's important to be aware of the hardware requirements. The game can run adequately on an entry-level GPU with a minimum score of about 7873 and a CPU score of at least 10651. With 16 GB of RAM recommended, players can expect performance benchmarks that deliver a satisfactory FPS at moderate graphics settings, allowing for smooth gameplay without needing the latest high-end configurations.
With its solid rating of 80/100, Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker is definitely worth playing, particularly for fans of action and tactical strategy games. The blend of stealth mechanics, engaging missions, and resource management makes it a compelling title that stands out in the Metal Gear franchise, providing an enriching experience for both new players and series veterans alike.
Performance profile
April 2010 release. Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker targets mid-2000s-to-early-2010s hardware — any modern entry-level GPU (GTX 1650 tier or newer integrated graphics) handles it at 1080p Ultra without breaking a sweat.
As a strategy title, Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker is typically CPU-bound rather than GPU-bound — single-thread CPU performance dictates framerate during large-scale battles, end-game saves and late-game AI turns. A fast modern 6-core will help more than a GPU upgrade.
Mid-range territory. An RTX 3060 or RX 6700 XT delivers 60 FPS at 1080p High in Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker. For 1440p Ultra you'll want an RTX 4060 Ti / RX 7700 XT; 4K Ultra needs an RTX 4070 Ti or faster.
Storyline
After the events of Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater, Naked Snake isolates himself from the United States and sets up home in Colombia. Here he creates Militaires Sans Frontières, a private military group that provides support for countries in need. But at the same time, an unknown army of well-equipped soldiers has taken over the defenseless country and brought along a nuclear warhead labeled Peace Walker to demonstrate their power. Naked Snake is asked by the government to save the country along with his Militaires Sans Frontières.
