About

Released in 2009, Mirror's Edge is a distinctive side-scrolling platform game that combines parkour-style movement with a gripping narrative. Developed by IronMonkey Studios and published by Electronic Arts, the game introduces players to the world of Runners, individuals who navigate a dystopian city fraught with corporate corruption. Its unique visual style and fluid gameplay mechanics make it a standout title in the platform genre, offering a refreshing take on traditional gaming experiences.

In terms of PC performance, Mirror's Edge is quite accessible, making it easy for gamers with entry-level hardware to enjoy. The minimum GPU requirement is an entry-level model with a benchmark score of around 103, paired with just 1 GB of RAM. Players can expect respectable FPS even on modest setups, allowing a smooth experience without the need for high-end graphics settings. For better performance, targeting GPUs such as the NVIDIA GeForce GTX 750 or AMD Radeon R7 250 can enhance the FPS and overall gameplay fluidity.

With an impressive rating of 85/100, Mirror's Edge is highly recommended for both newcomers and seasoned gamers who appreciate platforming mechanics and engaging storytelling. Its blend of action and narrative makes it a worthwhile addition to any gaming library, especially for those seeking a unique experience.

Performance profile

September 2009 release. Mirror's Edge targets mid-2000s-to-early-2010s hardware — any modern entry-level GPU (GTX 1650 tier or newer integrated graphics) handles it at 1080p Ultra without breaking a sweat.

Extremely light — Mirror's Edge runs at 60 FPS 1080p on any integrated GPU (Intel Iris Xe, AMD Radeon Graphics) or a decade-old discrete card like the GTX 1050. A current-gen RTX 4060 pushes 4K Ultra without effort.

Storyline

This game is a prequel to Mirror's Edge. Senator Elaine Callaghan starts to employ the Pirandello Kruger security firm to train a gang of rogue Runners to make a bad image of and smear the true Runners to gain more votes against mayoral candidate Senator Robert Pope who supports the morale of the Runners.
