About
Stack is a deceptively simple yet highly addictive strategy game from 2017 that challenges your reaction times and hand-eye coordination in equal measure. This minimalist title strips away complex graphics and narratives to focus purely on engaging gameplay mechanics that keep you coming back for just one more round. With a solid 90/100 rating, it's earned its reputation as a genuinely compelling experience despite its straightforward premise.
The good news for PC gamers is that Stack runs smoothly on modest hardware, making it an accessible benchmark title for entry-level systems. You'll only need a basic GPU with a score around 9638 or better to hit solid frame rates, and 8 GB of RAM is the minimum requirement. This lightweight performance profile means you can expect excellent FPS stability on integrated graphics or budget GPUs, and the game scales gracefully across different graphics settings for any PC gaming benchmark rig.
If you enjoy strategy games that reward quick thinking and precision, Stack is absolutely worth playing. Its high critical reception combined with accessibility makes it a no-brainer addition to any PC gaming library.
Performance profile
May 2017 release. Stack was built around the GTX 10-series / RX Vega era. Current-gen mid-range cards (RTX 4060 / RX 7600) are overkill at 1080p and handle 1440p Ultra comfortably.
As a strategy title, Stack is typically CPU-bound rather than GPU-bound — single-thread CPU performance dictates framerate during large-scale battles, end-game saves and late-game AI turns. A fast modern 6-core will help more than a GPU upgrade.
Mid-range territory. An RTX 3060 or RX 6700 XT delivers 60 FPS at 1080p High in Stack. For 1440p Ultra you'll want an RTX 4060 Ti / RX 7700 XT; 4K Ultra needs an RTX 4070 Ti or faster.
