About

"The Finals," released in 2023, is an exciting free-to-play shooter that immerses players in a unique combat-centered game show setting. In this first-person shooter, players join forces with teammates to navigate destructible virtual arenas, allowing for a dynamic gameplay experience where tactics and strategy are key. The game's compelling premise involves competing in escalating tournaments, striving for victory, and ultimately fame in the world of competitive gaming.

For optimal performance while playing The Finals, gamers should consider a minimum of an entry-level GPU, with a score of around 6359, and a CPU with a score near 6299. Players will need at least 12 GB of RAM for satisfactory performance. This setup indicates that while the game is accessible for those with moderate hardware, bumping up to mid-tier GPUs can help achieve higher FPS and better visuals, especially on more demanding graphics settings.

If you enjoy shooters and competitive gameplay, The Finals could be a worthwhile addition to your gaming library, especially considering its solid rating of 74/100. Balanced with a unique gameplay approach, this title offers plenty of opportunities for players eager to showcase their skills in thrilling combat scenarios.

Performance profile

December 2023 release. As a current-generation title, The Finals pushes modern hardware — expect to need an RTX 40-series or RX 7000-series GPU to enjoy it at native 4K Ultra without leaning on upscaling.

The Finals is latency-sensitive: a high refresh-rate monitor (144 Hz+) and consistent 1% low framerate matter more than raw averages. Aim for a GPU that delivers 20–30% more headroom than the "just 60 FPS" tier to keep frame pacing smooth during intense fights.

Mid-range territory. An RTX 3060 or RX 6700 XT delivers 60 FPS at 1080p High in The Finals. For 1440p Ultra you'll want an RTX 4060 Ti / RX 7700 XT; 4K Ultra needs an RTX 4070 Ti or faster.

Storyline

The Finals takes place about 75 years in the future, roughly around the year 2100. It is the greatest virtual game show on the planet, with a large, global fan base, and is considered a window to a bigger world outside of the real one - known as the Meatspace. Virtual reality is where most people spend their time, and THE FINALS allows them to join as contestants to play in hyper-realistic arenas and fight for fame, money, and the favor of generous seasonal sponsors, who want exposure to the show's massive audience for their brand and products. The game show has been a target of rogue hacker collective CNS, who have staged multiple takeovers urging viewers to "seek the truth beyond the walls." Their conflict with MultiCo's enlisted cyber security firm, VAIIYA, has drawn more attention to the game show than ever before. Unbeknownst to most however, a new 'Third Force' has been listening, and is finally making their presence known.
