About
"Thriving City: Song," released in 2024, is a captivating blend of casual, indie, simulation, and strategy genres. Set in the historical backdrop of the Zhao Song Dynasty in 960 A.D., players take on the role of a mayor who must guide townspeople in settling, cultivating, and expanding their city. The game stands out for its unique blend of rich historical context and strategic challenges, where players must navigate conflicts arising from national mandates to ensure the development of their city.
For optimal performance, "Thriving City: Song" has relatively accessible hardware requirements, making it suitable for a wide range of players. The minimum GPU recommended is an entry-level model with a score of around 3900, allowing for decent FPS even on moderate graphics settings. With at least 16 GB of RAM, players can expect smooth performance, ensuring that their gaming experience remains engaging and fluid across various scenarios and environments.
If you enjoy strategy games with a historical twist and are looking for a title that offers immersive city-building gameplay, "Thriving City: Song" could be a great addition to your collection. Given its engaging mechanics and appealing graphics, it's worth playing, especially for those who appreciate indie simulations.
Performance profile
May 2024 release. As a current-generation title, Thriving City: Song pushes modern hardware — expect to need an RTX 40-series or RX 7000-series GPU to enjoy it at native 4K Ultra without leaning on upscaling.
As a strategy title, Thriving City: Song is typically CPU-bound rather than GPU-bound — single-thread CPU performance dictates framerate during large-scale battles, end-game saves and late-game AI turns. A fast modern 6-core will help more than a GPU upgrade.
Entry-level hardware target. A GTX 1650 or RX 6500 XT reaches 60 FPS at 1080p Medium in Thriving City: Song; an RTX 4060 comfortably sustains 1440p Ultra. 4K Ultra 60 FPS needs an RTX 4070 or better.
Storyline
Thriving City: Song is a city-building simulation game set in ancient China with rich historic, story, and strategy elements. As the mayor, you'll need to help the townspeople settle down, cultivate the land and expand the city. More than that, however, you must ensure your people live in peace and prosperity: by providing food and other necessities, lending the people your ear, preventing disasters, and lowering the crime rate. How to respond in the face of crisis is down to you. When the emperor issues a national mandate, an enemy state invades your homeland, or conflicts between factions threaten city development—what strategy will you adopt? How will your decisions change the course of history forever?
