About

"Trigger," released in 1989 by Opera Soft, is a unique light gun shooter that immerses players in a vibrant game environment known as CRAZY PARK. Players must skillfully aim and shoot at criminals while avoiding innocent bystanders to maintain high scores. This game stands out for its innovative use of the Gunstick light gun, creating an engaging and interactive arcade-like experience that was quite ahead of its time.

For optimal performance in "Trigger," players will find that entry-level GPUs are sufficient, with a minimum GPU score of around 5364 and a CPU score of roughly 4228 needed to enjoy smooth gameplay. With only 8 GB of RAM required, the game is accessible to a wide range of hardware setups. Players can expect decent FPS performance even on modest systems, making it an easy title to run without demanding high-end graphics settings.

If you’re a fan of retro shooters or light gun games, "Trigger" is definitely worth a play, given its nostalgic charm and engaging gameplay. Its unique mechanics and scoring system offer a rewarding challenge for those looking to relive gaming history or simply take a break from more contemporary titles.

Performance profile

Released in December 1989, Trigger predates modern GPU acceleration as we know it today. It runs effortlessly on virtually any current hardware, including integrated graphics and entry-level laptops — framerate is limited by the engine, not the GPU.

Trigger is latency-sensitive: a high refresh-rate monitor (144 Hz+) and consistent 1% low framerate matter more than raw averages. Aim for a GPU that delivers 20–30% more headroom than the "just 60 FPS" tier to keep frame pacing smooth during intense fights.

Entry-level hardware target. A GTX 1650 or RX 6500 XT reaches 60 FPS at 1080p Medium in Trigger; an RTX 4060 comfortably sustains 1440p Ultra. 4K Ultra 60 FPS needs an RTX 4070 or better.

Storyline

That Sunday, tired of watching video and television, I had the not so great idea of taking a walk in CRAZY PARK, near my apartment, I had already been warned: It is a dangerous place, but I always thought it was just hearsay. I will never forget the state in which I arrived home, without three molars and eight teeth, without my engagement ring, without my leather jacket, of course without my money and thanks to the bologna sandwich I had in my shirt pocket, which miraculously lodged the bullet of someone I had never seen in my life. I didn't wait any longer, the next day I signed up for an ELITE SHOOTING course by correspondence, and three months later I went to a friend's store to buy a pistol, and since he was a friend he gave me a 15% discount. So, today, I feel safer walking around CRAZY PARK. This is my case, if I were you I would think about going for a walk or walking the dog in such a place without an automatic pistol, but you know, everyone can do what they want.
