About

Trouble Magnet, released in 2024, is an indie casual strategy game that invites players to join Charlie on his adventures across various time periods. Engaging with surging tides and unpredictable oceanic challenges, players must manipulate time to survive and ultimately return home. Its blend of quirky storytelling and strategic gameplay mechanics makes it a notable addition to the early access gaming scene.

In terms of PC performance, Trouble Magnet is quite accessible, requiring only an entry-level GPU with a minimum score of around 2273 and 2 GB of RAM. This means that even budget-friendly gaming rigs can run the game smoothly. Players can expect decent FPS on low to medium graphics settings, with common GPUs like the GTX 1030 or equivalent providing a satisfactory experience for casual gameplay.

If you enjoy strategic gameplay and the charm of indie games, Trouble Magnet comes highly recommended. Its unique concept and engaging mechanics are sure to appeal to casual gamers looking for an entertaining experience without the need for high-end hardware.

Performance profile

February 2024 release. As a current-generation title, Trouble Magnet pushes modern hardware — expect to need an RTX 40-series or RX 7000-series GPU to enjoy it at native 4K Ultra without leaning on upscaling.

As a strategy title, Trouble Magnet is typically CPU-bound rather than GPU-bound — single-thread CPU performance dictates framerate during large-scale battles, end-game saves and late-game AI turns. A fast modern 6-core will help more than a GPU upgrade.

Extremely light — Trouble Magnet runs at 60 FPS 1080p on any integrated GPU (Intel Iris Xe, AMD Radeon Graphics) or a decade-old discrete card like the GTX 1050. A current-gen RTX 4060 pushes 4K Ultra without effort.

Storyline

Charlie, acquired a gleaming object from the flea market and aspired to use it as a bedside lamp in his room. However, he was unaware that this object possessed a powerful time-bending capability. One day, without warning, the overloaded Core instantly transported Charlie to the center of an event in a different time frame within the universe, making him the main character. Charlie's only hope to return to his own time was to recharge Core with energy once again.
