About

Valorant, released in 2020, is a character-based 5v5 tactical shooter that combines elements of traditional gunplay with unique character abilities. Set on a global stage, the game challenges players to outwit and outplay their opponents through strategic teamwork and precise execution. This competitive shooter has garnered attention for its blend of tactical gameplay and robust character mechanics, which make each match uniquely engaging.

In terms of PC performance, Valorant is highly accessible and can run well on a variety of hardware. The minimum GPU requirement is an entry-level graphics card, which suggests that players can expect decent FPS even on lower-end systems. For optimal performance, a GPU in the mid-tier range is recommended, ensuring smooth gameplay and the ability to adjust graphics settings for enhanced visuals without sacrificing frame rates.

Given its rating of 72/100, Valorant is a strong contender for fans of the shooter genre and tactical gameplay. If you enjoy strategy-driven team play and want an experience that rewards skill and cooperation, this game is well worth your time.

Performance profile

Released in June 2020, Valorant targets RTX 20/30-series and RX 6000-era hardware. A current mid-range GPU (RTX 4060 Ti / RX 7700 XT) is the sweet spot for 1440p Ultra; 4K needs a high-end card.

As a strategy title, Valorant is typically CPU-bound rather than GPU-bound — single-thread CPU performance dictates framerate during large-scale battles, end-game saves and late-game AI turns. A fast modern 6-core will help more than a GPU upgrade.

Extremely light — Valorant runs at 60 FPS 1080p on any integrated GPU (Intel Iris Xe, AMD Radeon Graphics) or a decade-old discrete card like the GTX 1050. A current-gen RTX 4060 pushes 4K Ultra without effort.

Storyline

VALORANT is set in a near-future Earth after a mysterious event called First Light grants select individuals powerful abilities through a resource known as Radianite. The VALORANT Protocol is formed to respond to escalating threats involving this energy, as tensions rise between Alpha Earth and its alternate counterpart, Omega Earth. Both worlds become connected through a mirror dimension, leading to repeated incursions where Omega Earth agents attempt to extract Radianite from Alpha Earth. As the conflict grows, the VALORANT Protocol uncovers deeper secrets behind Kingdom Corporation and the true nature of First Light, while also confronting the existence of alternate versions of its own agents across both realities.
