About
BioShock Remastered (2016) is a first-person shooter that blends immersive combat with environmental puzzle-solving in a beautifully realized underwater dystopia. The game is celebrated for its atmospheric storytelling, creative weapon variety, and moral choice mechanics that influence the narrative. It's a standout title that defined the immersive sim genre and remains engaging nearly two decades after its original release.
BioShock Remastered is quite accessible for modern gaming PCs, making it an excellent benchmark title for entry-level systems. The minimum GPU requirement sits around the 2171 score range, meaning even modest graphics cards deliver solid performance. On recommended hardware, you'll easily achieve high FPS at 1440p or 4K resolution, and the game scales well across different GPU tiers, allowing you to push visual quality without sacrificing smooth gameplay.
With an 83/100 rating, BioShock Remastered is absolutely worth playing if you enjoy atmospheric shooters or immersive simulations. The remastered edition's enhanced textures, high-resolution models, and full controller support make it the definitive way to experience this classic.
Performance profile
Released in September 2016, BioShock Remastered sits in the DirectX 11 generation. Comfortable on any modern mid-range GPU at 1440p; even an RTX 3050 or RX 6600 typically delivers 4K60 at High settings.
BioShock Remastered is latency-sensitive: a high refresh-rate monitor (144 Hz+) and consistent 1% low framerate matter more than raw averages. Aim for a GPU that delivers 20–30% more headroom than the "just 60 FPS" tier to keep frame pacing smooth during intense fights.
Entry-level hardware target. A GTX 1650 or RX 6500 XT reaches 60 FPS at 1080p Medium in BioShock Remastered; an RTX 4060 comfortably sustains 1440p Ultra. 4K Ultra 60 FPS needs an RTX 4070 or better.
Storyline
In the year 1960, a plane crashes in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean with a man named Jack as the only survivor. He has the apparent luck of resurfacing in front of what looks like a door to an underwater complex. Without hesitating, Jack enters the door and is greeted by slogans that praise the city of Rapture, a paradise of free will built in the 1940s by a business magnate named Andrew Ryan. However, even before he assimilates all this new information, the descent to this supposed paradise ends and he can only see ruins and chaos. Learning about the destiny of Rapture will be now Jack's main motivation while he tries to survive the horrors that free can create.
