About
Escape from Tarkov (2025) is a hardcore and immersive online first-person action RPG that blends tactical shooter elements with simulation features. Set in a fictional Russian city, players engage in intense firefights, scavenging for weapons and supplies while navigating a rich, story-driven environment. The game's notable realism and complex mechanics set it apart, attracting a dedicated fanbase that thrives on its challenging gameplay.
To run Escape from Tarkov smoothly, players need mid-range hardware, with a minimum GPU score of around 11,622 required for optimal performance. A capable CPU, boasting at least a score of 17,677, along with 16 GB of RAM, will ensure better fps during intense encounters. Competitive gamers looking to play at higher graphics settings should consider GPUs from tiers like NVIDIA’s GeForce GTX 1660 or AMD’s Radeon RX 580 for a more reliable gaming experience.
Given its 72/100 rating and the fusion of RPG and tactical shooter genres, Escape from Tarkov is highly recommended for those who appreciate strategic gameplay and deep immersion. If you're a fan of intense multiplayer experiences and enjoy overcoming formidable challenges, this game will likely be a worthwhile addition to your library.
Performance profile
November 2025 release. As a current-generation title, Escape from Tarkov pushes modern hardware — expect to need an RTX 40-series or RX 7000-series GPU to enjoy it at native 4K Ultra without leaning on upscaling.
As a strategy title, Escape from Tarkov is typically CPU-bound rather than GPU-bound — single-thread CPU performance dictates framerate during large-scale battles, end-game saves and late-game AI turns. A fast modern 6-core will help more than a GPU upgrade.
Mid-range territory. An RTX 3060 or RX 6700 XT delivers 60 FPS at 1080p High in Escape from Tarkov. For 1440p Ultra you'll want an RTX 4060 Ti / RX 7700 XT; 4K Ultra needs an RTX 4070 Ti or faster.
Storyline
With each passing day the situation in the Norvinsk region grows more and more complicated. Incessant warfare in Tarkov has sparked massive panic; local population has fled the city, but those who stayed are looking to improve their fortunes at the expense of others. Having accepted the new reality, “savage” Tarkov locals - Scavs flocked into well-armed gangs and started the redivision of the city. Nowadays, Tarkov is separated by unseen borders, controlled by different groups. Gain-greedy gunmen would go to any length to have their way, including the murder of civilians and direct confrontation with the two private military companies. The players will have to experience living in the skin of one of the mercenaries who survived the initial stage of the Tarkov conflict. After choosing one of the sides – USEC or BEAR – the player’s character starts to make his way out of the city. Tarkov is sealed off by UN and Russian military, supply chains are cut, communication with operational command is lost, and in these conditions everyone has to make his own choices of what to do and how to get out of the chaos-ridden metropolis.
