About

Fast Dust, released in 2018, is an indie racing game that challenges players to navigate 70 racetracks across diverse terrains, totaling 270 miles (430 km) of adrenaline-pumping action. Players can choose from ten unique cars that may not look new but possess a distinct character, showcasing their battle-scarred history while still offering impressive performance on the racetrack. This game combines engaging gameplay with a charming aesthetic, making it notable in the indie racing genre.

In terms of PC performance, Fast Dust is quite accessible, requiring a minimum GPU score of around 2272, which places it within the entry-level tier. With just 8 GB of RAM, most modern systems can handle the game comfortably, allowing players to achieve solid FPS even on lower graphics settings. For optimal performance, users may want to consider GPUs that fall into the mid-range category, enabling smoother gameplay and better visuals without excessive strain on hardware.

If you're a fan of indie racing games and enjoy unique vehicles with character, Fast Dust is worth a try. Its blend of engaging gameplay and accessible hardware requirements makes it a solid option for both casual players and racing enthusiasts looking to test their skills on challenging tracks.

Performance profile

August 2018 release. Fast Dust was built around the GTX 10-series / RX Vega era. Current-gen mid-range cards (RTX 4060 / RX 7600) are overkill at 1080p and handle 1440p Ultra comfortably.

Racing games like Fast Dust are latency-critical — input-to-screen responsiveness is everything. Target a locked 60 FPS minimum (ideally 120 FPS on a high-refresh display) with VSync off or G-Sync/FreeSync active.

Extremely light — Fast Dust runs at 60 FPS 1080p on any integrated GPU (Intel Iris Xe, AMD Radeon Graphics) or a decade-old discrete card like the GTX 1050. A current-gen RTX 4060 pushes 4K Ultra without effort.
