About
Fated Kingdom, released in 2019, is a unique blend of indie, RPG, simulation, and strategy genres, taking the form of a digital board game for up to four players. Set in the dark fantasy realm of Kinmarr, players must work together to navigate a grim world using dice rolls and card draws to make tactical decisions that will determine their survival and the fate of the kingdom. Its tabletop sandbox experience distinguishes it from other games, offering a creative twist to traditional RPG mechanics.
When it comes to PC performance, Fated Kingdom is quite accessible, allowing it to run on entry-level hardware with a minimum GPU score of around 3118 and a CPU score of at least 106. With only 2 GB of RAM required, players can expect decent FPS on lower-end systems. If you're looking for a solid GPU tier recommendation, cards like the NVIDIA GeForce GTX 750 or AMD Radeon HD 7850 should comfortably handle the game, enabling you to enjoy the vibrant graphics settings without much stress on your hardware.
While Fated Kingdom has received a modest rating of 60/100, its blend of genres may appeal to fans of cooperative and strategy-based gameplay. If you enjoy games that test your wit in a light-hearted yet strategic environment, giving it a try could be worthwhile, especially if you have friends to join in on the fantasy adventure.
Performance profile
November 2019 release. Fated Kingdom was built around the GTX 10-series / RX Vega era. Current-gen mid-range cards (RTX 4060 / RX 7600) are overkill at 1080p and handle 1440p Ultra comfortably.
As a strategy title, Fated Kingdom is typically CPU-bound rather than GPU-bound — single-thread CPU performance dictates framerate during large-scale battles, end-game saves and late-game AI turns. A fast modern 6-core will help more than a GPU upgrade.
Entry-level hardware target. A GTX 1650 or RX 6500 XT reaches 60 FPS at 1080p Medium in Fated Kingdom; an RTX 4060 comfortably sustains 1440p Ultra. 4K Ultra 60 FPS needs an RTX 4070 or better.
Storyline
The game takes place in a gloomy medieval world with fantasy elements. The Kingdom of Kinmarr was filled with monsters, undead and looters. The folk leave the fields, which have not yielded a crop for a long time, and the whole royal army went to war and did not return. It seems that Fate itself wants the country to plunge into the abyss of chaos and despair. To counter the numerous misfortunes and regain control of the country, the king calls for the help of his most faithful servants and creates 4 guilds: Feudal Pact, Arcane Commune, Pathfinders and Heirs of Kinmarr. Each guild receives full freedom of action and a clearly stipulated contract: destroy everything that harms the crown. At the beginning of the game, 10 years have already passed, and during this time the guilds have not succeeded in their mission. The Kingdom shrank to the capital, several large cities and war-ravaged lands in their environs. There is no clear plot line in the game, but on the cards you can find brief notes on which to learn about the world and the creatures inhabiting it.
