About
Guild Wars: Eye of the North is the first expansion to the original Guild Wars MMO, released in 2007. This action-packed multiplayer RPG is designed for level 20 characters and takes players back to the battle-scarred continent of Tyria, where they'll reunite with familiar allies while facing new threats. The expansion combines cooperative gameplay with engaging PvE content that defined the early MMO landscape.
Eye of the North is extremely accessible from a performance standpoint, requiring just 1 GB of RAM and running smoothly on modest GPU hardware. Even budget graphics cards from the last two decades will deliver high FPS at maximum settings, making it an excellent benchmark title for stress-testing older or entry-level systems. The game's lightweight engine means consistent performance across a wide range of hardware configurations, though modern GPUs will easily exceed 100+ FPS at any resolution.
With an 86/100 rating, Eye of the North remains a solid choice for MMO and action RPG fans. If you enjoy classic multiplayer experiences or want to revisit a landmark title in PC gaming history, this expansion is absolutely worth playing and benchmarking.
Performance profile
August 2007 release. Guild Wars: Eye of the North targets mid-2000s-to-early-2010s hardware — any modern entry-level GPU (GTX 1650 tier or newer integrated graphics) handles it at 1080p Ultra without breaking a sweat.
RPGs like Guild Wars: Eye of the North stress VRAM during long sessions — texture streaming, mods and open-world traversal inflate memory use over time. 8 GB VRAM is a practical floor; 12 GB+ is worth the headroom at 1440p and above.
Entry-level hardware target. A GTX 1650 or RX 6500 XT reaches 60 FPS at 1080p Medium in Guild Wars: Eye of the North; an RTX 4060 comfortably sustains 1440p Ultra. 4K Ultra 60 FPS needs an RTX 4070 or better.
