About

King's Bounty: Crossworlds is a 2010 expansion that combines RPG and strategy gameplay, building on the Armored Princess foundation. The game features multiple campaigns including "Orcs on the March," "Champion of the Arena," and "Defender of the Crown," plus a level editor for custom content creation. It's a solid choice for tactical RPG fans looking for deep strategic combat and character progression.

Crossworlds is a lightweight title that runs smoothly on modest hardware, making it an accessible benchmark for older GPU generations. You'll comfortably achieve 60+ FPS on integrated graphics or budget GPUs when testing at 1080p with standard graphics settings. The game requires just 1 GB RAM minimum, so even budget builds from the early 2010s can handle it—it's ideal for performance baseline testing rather than pushing modern GPU capabilities.

With a solid 64/100 rating, Crossworlds delivers engaging tactical strategy gameplay that holds up reasonably well today. If you enjoy turn-based RPG combat and don't mind older graphics, it's worth experiencing, though it won't challenge contemporary systems in benchmark scenarios.

Performance profile

September 2010 release. King's Bounty: Crossworlds targets mid-2000s-to-early-2010s hardware — any modern entry-level GPU (GTX 1650 tier or newer integrated graphics) handles it at 1080p Ultra without breaking a sweat.

As a strategy title, King's Bounty: Crossworlds is typically CPU-bound rather than GPU-bound — single-thread CPU performance dictates framerate during large-scale battles, end-game saves and late-game AI turns. A fast modern 6-core will help more than a GPU upgrade.

Extremely light — King's Bounty: Crossworlds runs at 60 FPS 1080p on any integrated GPU (Intel Iris Xe, AMD Radeon Graphics) or a decade-old discrete card like the GTX 1050. A current-gen RTX 4060 pushes 4K Ultra without effort.

Storyline

The world of Teana is threatened once again. The female orc leader Red Scrounger, craving to gain unlimited power, gathers her army of followers and departs in search of the ancient Source of Immense Force. If her evil plan succeeds Teana will be destroyed, and all its inhabitants will perish. In despair other orc chiefs ask the humans for help. Meanwhile, a mysterious tower appears near the coast of Debir Island and even the greatest magicians of the kingdom cannot figure out how to enter it…
