About
"Legends of Persia," released in 2012, is an action RPG adventure that draws inspiration from Diablo’s gameplay mechanics. Players embark on a quest for vengeance as Keykhosro, the son of a Persian prince, battling against the formidable king Afrasiab. The game combines immersive storytelling with brutal combat, extensive item usage, and character building, making it a unique entry in the indie gaming landscape.
In terms of PC performance, "Legends of Persia" is quite accessible, designed for players with entry-level GPUs, which are typically required to score around 43 on performance benchmarks. With a minimum RAM requirement of just 1 GB, even lower-end systems can achieve decent FPS rates. This makes the game easy to run on various hardware setups without demanding high-end graphics cards, allowing a wider audience to enjoy the experience without sacrificing performance or graphics settings.
If you enjoy action RPGs with engaging narratives and solid gameplay mechanics, then "Legends of Persia" is worth a try. Its indie feel and lower hardware demands, paired with a compelling storyline, make it an entertaining option for fans of the genre looking for something different.
Performance profile
June 2012 release. Legends of Persia targets mid-2000s-to-early-2010s hardware — any modern entry-level GPU (GTX 1650 tier or newer integrated graphics) handles it at 1080p Ultra without breaking a sweat.
RPGs like Legends of Persia stress VRAM during long sessions — texture streaming, mods and open-world traversal inflate memory use over time. 8 GB VRAM is a practical floor; 12 GB+ is worth the headroom at 1440p and above.
Extremely light — Legends of Persia runs at 60 FPS 1080p on any integrated GPU (Intel Iris Xe, AMD Radeon Graphics) or a decade-old discrete card like the GTX 1050. A current-gen RTX 4060 pushes 4K Ultra without effort.
Storyline
At the height of the glorious Persian king KayKavoos' reign, he had dominance over half the lands of his age. Seeking to cement his legend, he looked next to conquering the heavens. Lashing a great sky chariot to four mighty birds, the lord of Persia ascended far above the earth. Before the king's ambition could be fully realized, an angel appeared to quell his flight. But as the celestial creature prepared to strike down the Persian king, the glowing spirit of a child materialized. “Stay your hand, angel! I am KayKhosro, this great king's yet-unborn son. If you destroy this man for his arrogance now, you destroy me! To rob him of his present would be to rob me of my future.” The angel paused, considered the spirit's words, and sent the zealous King's chariot crashing down to the realm of Earth from whence it came. “I am forbidden from severing your bloodline, and have returned your ancestor to his kingdom alive, but the burdens upon you are heavy, indeed.” The angel embraced the spirit child, imparting these words. “You will be born into an age of conflict, your ancestors beset upon each other with steel and cruelty, and your people will look to you for guidance. One day, evil will descend upon the borders of Persia, and you must be ready. Now, rest, child. Your time has yet to come...”
