About

Lunacid, released in 2023, is a captivating first-person dungeon crawler that draws inspiration from classic FROMSOFT titles such as Shadow Tower and King's Field. The game combines retro aesthetics with modern design, offering a unique blend of atmospheric exploration and intense combat. Its notable gameplay mechanics and intricate level designs create an engaging experience that stands out in the indie RPG genre.

PC gamers who appreciate challenging gameplay and deep lore will find Lunacid particularly appealing. The game caters to those who enjoy a slower-paced, methodical approach to exploration and combat. With its intricate dungeons and appreciation for difficulty, it rewards players who take the time to understand their surroundings and strategies. Additionally, the replayability factor ensures that even seasoned players will find something new upon each playthrough, making it a worthy addition to any PC gaming library.

Given its strong rating of 86/100, Lunacid is highly recommended for fans of the indie RPG genre. If you're looking for a game that combines nostalgia with thrilling gameplay and rich atmospheric environments, Lunacid might just be the perfect choice for you.

Performance profile

October 2023 release. As a current-generation title, Lunacid pushes modern hardware — expect to need an RTX 40-series or RX 7000-series GPU to enjoy it at native 4K Ultra without leaning on upscaling.

RPGs like Lunacid stress VRAM during long sessions — texture streaming, mods and open-world traversal inflate memory use over time. 8 GB VRAM is a practical floor; 12 GB+ is worth the headroom at 1440p and above.

Extremely light — Lunacid runs at 60 FPS 1080p on any integrated GPU (Intel Iris Xe, AMD Radeon Graphics) or a decade-old discrete card like the GTX 1050. A current-gen RTX 4060 pushes 4K Ultra without effort.

Storyline

You awaken in a moonlit subterranean world, having been thrown into the Great Well for crimes unknown. The only way out is to go further down and confront the sleeping old one below. On the way there will be many creatures and secrets to discover.
