About
Pax Augusta, set for release in 2025, immerses players in the intricate dynamics of the Roman Empire, where strategic decision-making shapes the fate of a prospering city. As a player, you'll be responsible for fostering citizen welfare, managing trade, and constructing monumental structures. The simulation and strategy genres come alive as you navigate political landscapes and build your legacy as a potential senator or emperor.
In terms of PC performance, Pax Augusta is relatively accessible to a wide range of gamers. With a minimum GPU requirement for entry-level graphics cards—scoring around 5977—and a CPU score of approximately 5356, users should aim for at least 16 GB of RAM to ensure smooth gameplay. Mid-range GPUs, such as the GTX 1660 or RX 580, should provide satisfactory FPS at medium graphics settings, delivering a visually intriguing experience without overwhelming system capabilities.
Given its engaging concepts and ambition to blend simulation with strategy, Pax Augusta appears to be a worthy addition to the library of fans of these genres. If you're looking for a game that combines thoughtful management with immersive historical themes, this title is worth considering for your next gaming session, especially if it aligns with your performance benchmarks.
Performance profile
April 2025 release. As a current-generation title, Pax Augusta pushes modern hardware — expect to need an RTX 40-series or RX 7000-series GPU to enjoy it at native 4K Ultra without leaning on upscaling.
As a strategy title, Pax Augusta is typically CPU-bound rather than GPU-bound — single-thread CPU performance dictates framerate during large-scale battles, end-game saves and late-game AI turns. A fast modern 6-core will help more than a GPU upgrade.
Entry-level hardware target. A GTX 1650 or RX 6500 XT reaches 60 FPS at 1080p Medium in Pax Augusta; an RTX 4060 comfortably sustains 1440p Ultra. 4K Ultra 60 FPS needs an RTX 4070 or better.
Storyline
As the empire expands its borders, capable governors are sought to found new cities in order to consolidate the Roman claim to the newly conquered land. You build a small settlement along a newly constructed imperial road. You attract new inhabitants to the city by building a harbor and a forum. As your tax revenue increases, you begin to mine raw materials and construct new buildings to meet the needs of the population. Baths, theaters, gladiator schools, slave markets, etc. not only serve to keep your inhabitants entertained, but also to provide them with work. Import marble and other raw materials from distant regions and build monumental temples and palaces! As a skillful governor, you will quickly catch the eye of the senate or the emperor. They will assign you new provinces to colonize. As you increase your private fortune, you will eventually be able to afford to become a senator. From then on, you will also become involved in political intrigues. Of course, you can also start your own intrigues, perhaps with enough money and power to reach the highest title: Emperor of Rome.
