About
South Park: The Stick of Truth is a 2014 action-adventure RPG developed by the creators of the Comedy Central series, Trey Parker and Matt Stone. The game drops you into South Park as a new kid trying to navigate the fourth-grade playground and make friends while caught up in an epic quest involving the legendary Stick of Truth. It's a faithful video game adaptation that captures the show's humor and storytelling in a playable adventure.
This game is highly accessible from a performance standpoint and runs well on modest hardware. You'll need at least an entry-level GPU with a benchmark score around 283 to meet minimum requirements, along with a CPU scoring roughly 803 and 2GB of RAM. Most modern systems will achieve smooth FPS performance at higher graphics settings, making this a great benchmark title if you're testing older or budget gaming hardware.
With an 84/100 rating, South Park: The Stick of Truth is a solid choice for RPG and comedy fans who appreciate the show's irreverent humor. If you enjoy turn-based combat mixed with exploration and character-driven storytelling, this cult classic deserves a spot in your library.
Performance profile
Released in March 2014, South Park: The Stick of Truth sits in the DirectX 11 generation. Comfortable on any modern mid-range GPU at 1440p; even an RTX 3050 or RX 6600 typically delivers 4K60 at High settings.
RPGs like South Park: The Stick of Truth stress VRAM during long sessions — texture streaming, mods and open-world traversal inflate memory use over time. 8 GB VRAM is a practical floor; 12 GB+ is worth the headroom at 1440p and above.
Extremely light — South Park: The Stick of Truth runs at 60 FPS 1080p on any integrated GPU (Intel Iris Xe, AMD Radeon Graphics) or a decade-old discrete card like the GTX 1050. A current-gen RTX 4060 pushes 4K Ultra without effort.
Storyline
A child known only as the New Kid has just moved to the small mountain town of South Park, Colorado. Venturing outside for the first time, the New Kid is immediately drawn into an elaborate live-action fantasy war between the neighborhood children, who have split into rival factions of humans and elves battling for control of a relic they call the Stick of Truth. Led by the scheming wizard king Cartman on one side and the elven king Kyle on the other, the conflict escalates well beyond a simple children's game as genuine dangers emerge and threaten the entire town.
