About

"Strife" (2015) is an engaging combination of action, RPG, and strategy genres, presenting players with team-based competition to destroy the opposing team’s base. Each team consists of heroes, each equipped with unique abilities, battling it out over various maps. The game brings together tactical strategy with fast-paced action, making it a noteworthy entry in the free-to-play arena.

In terms of PC performance, "Strife" is quite accessible, requiring only an entry-level GPU to run smoothly, with a minimum score of around 141. If you are looking for decent FPS while maintaining low graphics settings, most modern integrated graphics or budget-friendly dedicated GPUs should handle the game adequately. Aim for at least 4GB of RAM to ensure optimal performance without lag during intense gameplay moments.

While "Strife" holds a moderate rating of 60/100, it can still be enjoyable for fans of team-based games and strategy enthusiasts. If you appreciate free-to-play titles that offer unique hero abilities and tactical gameplay, it's worth a try, even if it's not the most critically acclaimed game out there.

Performance profile

Released in May 2015, Strife sits in the DirectX 11 generation. Comfortable on any modern mid-range GPU at 1440p; even an RTX 3050 or RX 6600 typically delivers 4K60 at High settings.

As a strategy title, Strife is typically CPU-bound rather than GPU-bound — single-thread CPU performance dictates framerate during large-scale battles, end-game saves and late-game AI turns. A fast modern 6-core will help more than a GPU upgrade.

Extremely light — Strife runs at 60 FPS 1080p on any integrated GPU (Intel Iris Xe, AMD Radeon Graphics) or a decade-old discrete card like the GTX 1050. A current-gen RTX 4060 pushes 4K Ultra without effort.

Storyline

A shadow has fallen over the Plane of Strife. An ancient evil, the Dharkwave horde of Sheol, is rumored to have arisen once more. The only thing that stands between the peaceful races of Strife and the threat of deadly invasion is a Rune of Darkstone, the only key that can open the portal to the underworld of Sheol. For generations this mystical item, a fragment of the ancient Dark Obelisk, has been kept by the Keepers of the Code, the sacred guardians of the Planes of Strife. But the cryptic rune has gone missing. And some fear the worst. In preparation of a Dharkwave invasion, the Keepers of the Code have built an Arena in Strife, with the hope that the fabled Army of Light might be trained there. Some even say the Golden Child of prophecy has appeared at the arena, riding his mystical Zidek dragon. Now, the mightiest heroes from the 5 planes are gathering together to face this new dread. They have come to Strife from their home Planes of Gael, Vorbis, Nestra, Tempra and Lyrie to battle in the arena, to prove their worth and to represent their people in the coming battle. Some will rise. Some will fall. And all will be pushed to the limits of their strength and courage.
