About

Sun's Edge, released in 2023, is an action-adventure RPG set on the vibrant island of Solasta, where players take on the role of a daring ranger. As the world teeters on the brink of collapse, the game combines exploration, combat, and puzzle-solving in a rich Aztec-themed environment, making it a notable addition to the indie gaming scene. With its engaging narrative and immersive gameplay, players are invited to uncover the mysteries of Solasta while battling against the encroaching darkness.

In terms of PC performance, Sun's Edge is relatively accessible, catering to a wide audience with its minimum GPU requirement of an entry-level graphics card that achieves a score of around 300. Gamers seeking to enjoy smooth FPS at higher graphics settings should consider mid-tier GPUs, such as the NVIDIA GTX 1650 or AMD RX 550, which can enhance the overall gaming experience. To fully enjoy Sun's Edge and its rich visual details, a system with at least 12 GB of RAM is advisable for optimal performance and gameplay fluidity.

If you're a fan of action-adventure RPGs looking for a fresh indie title, Sun's Edge is well worth your time. With its compelling story and solid gameplay mechanics, it has garnered positive reviews, making it a deserving entry in your gaming library. Whether you're scaling heights or facing imminent danger, this game offers an engaging experience that shouldn't be missed.

Performance profile

April 2023 release. As a current-generation title, Sun's Edge pushes modern hardware — expect to need an RTX 40-series or RX 7000-series GPU to enjoy it at native 4K Ultra without leaning on upscaling.

RPGs like Sun's Edge stress VRAM during long sessions — texture streaming, mods and open-world traversal inflate memory use over time. 8 GB VRAM is a practical floor; 12 GB+ is worth the headroom at 1440p and above.

Extremely light — Sun's Edge runs at 60 FPS 1080p on any integrated GPU (Intel Iris Xe, AMD Radeon Graphics) or a decade-old discrete card like the GTX 1050. A current-gen RTX 4060 pushes 4K Ultra without effort.

Storyline

The day of Crimson Sky changed the world for everyone. For several hours, our machines stopped working, monsters began destroying our cities, and the sky turned a blood red, before suddenly stopping without any clear reason. Ranger Machete has been chosen to explore the island of Solasta, ground zero of the Crimson Sky event, and find what caused it, and how to prevent it from happening again! He must be quick, the longer he takes, the sky turns bloodier and the sun begins to fade! Can Machete stop the end of our era and keep his loved ones safe? Or will the world fall to darkness?
