About
The Wild Eight, released in 2018, is a gripping survival action-adventure game set against the stunning yet harsh backdrop of Alaska's frozen wilderness. It allows players to team up in online co-op or to brave the icy terrain solo, making it notable for its blend of exploration, crafting, and intense survival mechanics within the RPG and indie game genres.
When it comes to PC performance, The Wild Eight is relatively accessible, requiring a minimum GPU score of around 5364 and a CPU score of approximately 3185. Players will need at least 6 GB of RAM to run the game smoothly. Given its benchmarks, entry-level GPUs should perform adequately to deliver a decent FPS, making it possible for a range of hardware to enjoy the thrilling experience without the need for cutting-edge specifications.
Considering its solid rating of 70/100 and the engaging multiplayer experience it offers, The Wild Eight is worth a try, especially for fans of action and adventure RPGs. If you enjoy survival games that encourage teamwork and exploration, this title will likely resonate with you.
Performance profile
February 2018 release. The Wild Eight was built around the GTX 10-series / RX Vega era. Current-gen mid-range cards (RTX 4060 / RX 7600) are overkill at 1080p and handle 1440p Ultra comfortably.
Simulation titles like The Wild Eight are heavily CPU-dependent — physics, AI and world state dominate the frame budget. Prioritise a CPU with strong single-thread performance and fast RAM over raw GPU power.
Entry-level hardware target. A GTX 1650 or RX 6500 XT reaches 60 FPS at 1080p Medium in The Wild Eight; an RTX 4060 comfortably sustains 1440p Ultra. 4K Ultra 60 FPS needs an RTX 4070 or better.
