About

Absinthia, released in 2023, is a captivating turn-based RPG that delves into the intertwined stories of love, loss, betrayal, and acceptance among four friends. Set in a beautifully crafted world, players engage in strategic combat while uncovering a narrative rich with emotional depth. Its unique blend of adventure and indie aesthetics makes Absinthia an intriguing title for fans of story-driven games.

In terms of performance, Absinthia is quite accessible, requiring only an entry-level GPU with a minimum score of around 800 to run smoothly. Players can expect decent FPS even on lower-end systems, as the game is designed to be enjoyed on PCs with just 2 GB of RAM. For an optimal experience, GPUs like the NVIDIA GTX 1050 or AMD Radeon RX 560 should deliver adequate benchmarks and support higher graphics settings without sacrificing performance.

If you appreciate indie RPGs that focus on character-driven storytelling, Absinthia is certainly worth your time. With positive ratings and a heartfelt narrative, it promises an engaging experience for both casual and dedicated gamers alike.

Performance profile

March 2023 release. As a current-generation title, Absinthia pushes modern hardware — expect to need an RTX 40-series or RX 7000-series GPU to enjoy it at native 4K Ultra without leaning on upscaling.

RPGs like Absinthia stress VRAM during long sessions — texture streaming, mods and open-world traversal inflate memory use over time. 8 GB VRAM is a practical floor; 12 GB+ is worth the headroom at 1440p and above.

Extremely light — Absinthia runs at 60 FPS 1080p on any integrated GPU (Intel Iris Xe, AMD Radeon Graphics) or a decade-old discrete card like the GTX 1050. A current-gen RTX 4060 pushes 4K Ultra without effort.

Storyline

The Ambrose Isles are home to many things: A port full of cunning pirates, a deadly swamp, a desert kingdom, an isle of vicious beasts… But for those who’d prefer to live a simple life free of danger, Katti Town is the place to be. …Or was, rather--as the town suddenly found itself battling a horde of shadowy minions and their leader, Lilith. But hope was not lost--before Lilith could claim victory, a traveling knight appeared and drove back Lilith`s forces with ease. Now known as the Hero of Katti Town, the knight Freya took three villagers under her wing: Sera, a young warrior who fights to protect her grandmother; Thomas, an aspiring mage; and his partner Jake, a talented, yet uninspired, rogue. Together, they train to protect Katti Town, defeat Lilith, and to answer the question on everyone’s minds: Why is Lilith attacking the Ambrose Isles to begin with, and for that matter… Who is Freya? Continuing with tradition, Absinthia takes place in the same world as the other titles from Team Bewitched.
