About

Disco Elysium: The Final Cut is a narrative-driven RPG released in 2021 that stands out for its exceptional writing and dialogue-heavy gameplay rather than combat or action sequences. This enhanced edition builds on the original with full voice acting, additional quests, new endings, and expanded story content. With a 94/100 rating, it's recognized as one of the finest story-driven games in recent years, offering a deeply immersive detective noir experience focused on choice and consequence.

The game is remarkably accessible from a performance perspective, making it an excellent choice for budget-conscious PC gamers. You can expect solid 60+ FPS on mid-range GPUs like an RTX 2060 or RX 5700 XT at 1440p with high graphics settings. Even entry-level GPUs will handle this comfortably, and performance scales well across different resolutions and custom graphics settings, so optimizing your benchmark results is straightforward.

If you enjoy narrative-rich games with memorable characters and meaningful dialogue choices, Disco Elysium: The Final Cut is absolutely worth playing. The impressive critical acclaim combined with its low hardware demands makes it accessible to almost any PC gamer.

Performance profile

Released in March 2021, Disco Elysium: The Final Cut targets RTX 20/30-series and RX 6000-era hardware. A current mid-range GPU (RTX 4060 Ti / RX 7700 XT) is the sweet spot for 1440p Ultra; 4K needs a high-end card.

RPGs like Disco Elysium: The Final Cut stress VRAM during long sessions — texture streaming, mods and open-world traversal inflate memory use over time. 8 GB VRAM is a practical floor; 12 GB+ is worth the headroom at 1440p and above.

Extremely light — Disco Elysium: The Final Cut runs at 60 FPS 1080p on any integrated GPU (Intel Iris Xe, AMD Radeon Graphics) or a decade-old discrete card like the GTX 1050. A current-gen RTX 4060 pushes 4K Ultra without effort.

Storyline

Disco Elysium is a stylish open-world role playing game where it's up to you to decide what sort of detective you want to be. After waking up in a trashed hostel room with a hangover and no memory of his past, follow a detective trying to piece his life back together while investigating a murder in the town of Revachol. After initially appearing to be an open and close case, it soon transpires this murder has triggered a chain of events that has wider implications on the city and its inhabitants. Death, sex, taxes, and disco – nothing is off the table. Revachol is a real place with real challenges. Solve the massive murder investigation or relax and kick back with sprawling side-cases. The detective decides - the citizens abide.
