About

Sky: Children of the Light, released in 2019, is a captivating social adventure game that invites players to connect and explore a magical world filled with wonder. Set high above the clouds, the game emphasizes cooperation and exploration as players team up to uncover hidden mysteries and restore a fallen kingdom. Its beautiful animations and heartwarming storytelling distinguish it in a crowded genre, making it a standout experience for those seeking companionship in gaming.

In terms of PC performance, Sky: Children of the Light is relatively accessible, with a minimum GPU requirement of an entry-level model scoring around 2402 and a minimum CPU score of about 4253. Players should anticipate a smooth gaming experience with at least 8 GB of RAM, allowing for stable FPS during gameplay. Mid-tier GPUs should comfortably handle the game on higher graphics settings, ensuring a visually pleasing performance without the need for high-end hardware.

With a rating of 70/100, Sky: Children of the Light offers a unique blend of exploration and social interaction that appeals to a broad audience. If you enjoy heartwarming stories and cooperative gameplay, this title is worth considering for your gaming library, especially for casual sessions with friends or family.

Performance profile

July 2019 release. Sky: Children of the Light was built around the GTX 10-series / RX Vega era. Current-gen mid-range cards (RTX 4060 / RX 7600) are overkill at 1080p and handle 1440p Ultra comfortably.

RPGs like Sky: Children of the Light stress VRAM during long sessions — texture streaming, mods and open-world traversal inflate memory use over time. 8 GB VRAM is a practical floor; 12 GB+ is worth the headroom at 1440p and above.

Extremely light — Sky: Children of the Light runs at 60 FPS 1080p on any integrated GPU (Intel Iris Xe, AMD Radeon Graphics) or a decade-old discrete card like the GTX 1050. A current-gen RTX 4060 pushes 4K Ultra without effort.

Storyline

In Sky, players explore a once prosperous kingdom using a cape that gives them the ability to fly. The in-game world consists of seven unique realms, each with a different theme being represented as a stage of life and a variety of areas to explore. There is also Home, a small island which serves as the world hub and the starting place when the game is opened. Throughout the world, players encounter "spirits" that allow them to unlock items in return for in-game currency, and "children of light" that give players "winged light". When a player has collected enough winged light, their cape level goes up, increasing the cape's maximum energy and allowing the player to fly farther.
