About

"The 4th Coming," released in 1998, is an ambitious adventure RPG that immerses players in a rich fantasy world where Elves and other mythical beings once thrived. This massively multiplayer online game allows players to explore vast landscapes, engage in epic quests, and form alliances with others in a community that echoes the grandeur of a long-lost era. Its blend of immersive storytelling and cooperative gameplay gives it a unique place in the hearts of classic RPG enthusiasts.

In terms of PC performance, "The 4th Coming" is quite accessible, requiring only an entry-level GPU with a minimum score of around 300. Players can enjoy decent FPS even on modest hardware, making it suitable for those who may not have high-end gaming rigs. With just 2 GB of RAM, this game is capable of running smoothly on older systems, ensuring that you can dive into magical encounters without a significant investment in upgrades.

Given its rating of 73/100 and engaging genre blend, "The 4th Coming" is worth a try for players who appreciate nostalgic adventures and community-driven experiences. Performance profile

Released in September 1998, The 4th Coming predates modern GPU acceleration as we know it today. It runs effortlessly on virtually any current hardware, including integrated graphics and entry-level laptops — framerate is limited by the engine, not the GPU.

RPGs like The 4th Coming stress VRAM during long sessions — texture streaming, mods and open-world traversal inflate memory use over time. 8 GB VRAM is a practical floor; 12 GB+ is worth the headroom at 1440p and above.

Extremely light — The 4th Coming runs at 60 FPS 1080p on any integrated GPU (Intel Iris Xe, AMD Radeon Graphics) or a decade-old discrete card like the GTX 1050. A current-gen RTX 4060 pushes 4K Ultra without effort.

Storyline

The game takes place in the fair world of Althea. Althea spans three islands: Arakas, Raven's Dust, and Stoneheim. In these islands, there is much commotion about the various evil deeds being committed. Beginning on Arakas island, players are eventually given the choice to choose their alignment - good or evil. At the end of the long path through the game lies the ultimate evil entity, the powerful lich Makrsh P'Tangh, the corrupt elven king. Players travel through the world unlocking quests, battling monsters in real-time, making allies, etc. The stat point system allows people to create their characters as they wish. By being able to choose their alignment, players are able to experience two sides of the storyline. The game also contains many different visuals, a chat system, has huge areas, and contains a wide variety of weapons and spells.
