About

Alan Sharp, released in 2021, is an immersive first-person mystery horror game that combines adventure and indie gaming elements. Players step into the shoes of Alan Sharp, a retired private detective drawn back into a tragic investigation involving the murder of a young boy in a small town. The game is notable for its gripping narrative, open-world exploration, and engaging puzzles that require players to dig deep into the story while managing survival elements.

In terms of PC performance, Alan Sharp is relatively accessible, making it suitable for a wide range of setups. The minimum GPU requirement is an entry-level graphics card with a score around 4047, while a CPU score of at least 2554 and 8 GB of RAM will enable a stable experience. Players can expect to achieve decent FPS and graphics settings on mid-tier GPUs, allowing smooth gameplay across various resolutions without overwhelming more modest systems.

If you enjoy narrative-driven games that combine elements of mystery and horror, Alan Sharp is worth considering. With favorable reviews in the indie genre, this game offers a compelling experience for those looking to engage in a rich story complemented by intriguing gameplay mechanics.

Performance profile

Released in May 2021, Alan Sharp targets RTX 20/30-series and RX 6000-era hardware. A current mid-range GPU (RTX 4060 Ti / RX 7700 XT) is the sweet spot for 1440p Ultra; 4K needs a high-end card.

Alan Sharp is a narrative-driven experience — a rock-solid 60 FPS is plenty. Prioritise resolution and image quality (AA, anisotropic filtering) over chasing high-refresh framerates.

Entry-level hardware target. A GTX 1650 or RX 6500 XT reaches 60 FPS at 1080p Medium in Alan Sharp; an RTX 4060 comfortably sustains 1440p Ultra. 4K Ultra 60 FPS needs an RTX 4070 or better.

Storyline

Get into the shoes of Alan Sharp, a private detective in the 1970s, retired and shattered due to the murder of a beloved one. A single call by an old friend takes Alan back on his track, leading you to a small town where a boy was butchered. The parents are missing, strange rumors spread among the folk talking of madness that consumed the father. Furthermore, others foretell of peculiar events and occurrences in the Regans’ home. As you dwell deeper and deeper into the mystery, Alan will come to face with some of his worst nightmares, the demons of his past which consumed his previous life of fame and left him a depressed alcoholic. Inspired by various psychological horror games and detective fiction, Alan Sharp takes the best elements of the horror games genre. Using uncertainty and fear of the unknown, above all, it provides a chilling atmosphere for the players to experience.
