This latest title continues the legacy of the Science Adventure Series, blending intricate storytelling with engaging gameplay. Players navigate a rich narrative world filled with complex characters and thought-provoking themes, making it a standout entry in the adventure genre.

This PC game is ideal for gamers who appreciate deep narratives and strategic decision-making. Fans of visual novels and adventure titles will find themselves immersed in the game's unique mechanics, which offer numerous pathways and endings. While the gameplay may challenge those looking for straightforward action, the thoughtful pacing and intricate puzzles reward players who enjoy exploring and understanding the implications of their choices, ensuring strong replayability.

If you're a fan of narrative-driven games with sci-fi elements, you should definitely consider playing Anonymous;Code. Its engaging story and solid graphics make it a worthwhile addition to any PC gaming library, and its well-crafted gameplay is sure to resonate with adventure enthusiasts.

Performance profile

Released in July 2022, Anonymous;Code targets RTX 20/30-series and RX 6000-era hardware. A current mid-range GPU (RTX 4060 Ti / RX 7700 XT) is the sweet spot for 1440p Ultra; 4K needs a high-end card.

Anonymous;Code is a narrative-driven experience — a rock-solid 60 FPS is plenty. Prioritise resolution and image quality (AA, anisotropic filtering) over chasing high-refresh framerates.

Extremely light — Anonymous;Code runs at 60 FPS 1080p on any integrated GPU (Intel Iris Xe, AMD Radeon Graphics) or a decade-old discrete card like the GTX 1050. A current-gen RTX 4060 pushes 4K Ultra without effort.

Storyline

The game takes place in 2037. The story starts on February 6, 2036, when an accident involving computers going berserk destroys many large cities around the world. The massive disaster is named the "2036 Problem", but there's a prediction that there will be a similar incident in 2038. So a group of scientists use the Gaia Supercomputer to create an "Earth Simulator" to prevent it from happening, but fail because human birth potential has dropped dramatically. The scientists then introduce the "Arecibo Message" formula to the Earth Simulator, successfully bringing mankind into another world. They are excited at first, until they realize that human beings in the Earth Simulator themselves created another Earth Simulator. The scientists begin to suspect that they are actually only the product of an Earth Simulator from creatures whose position is above them. The story centers around Takaoka Pollon, a hacker who has the ability to "Save and Load" like in a video game. Using his Hacking Trigger System, he can intervene with the world line around him.
