About
Assassin's Creed Mirage (2023) brings the franchise back to its stealth-focused roots with a compact, story-driven experience set in ninth-century Baghdad. The action-adventure game emphasizes parkour, infiltration, and targeted assassinations as you play Basim, a young thief caught up in a secretive order. It's notably more streamlined than recent entries, blending historical settings with the franchise's signature narrative elements.
On PC, Mirage is relatively accessible compared to other AAA titles. Entry-level GPUs with benchmark scores around 1599 can handle minimum settings, while mid-range cards deliver smooth performance at higher graphics settings and consistent 60+ FPS gameplay. The benchmark data suggests the game scales well across different GPU tiers, making it suitable for both modest gaming rigs and high-end systems looking to max out visuals and push framerates even higher.
With a solid 74/100 rating, Assassin's Creed Mirage is worth playing if you enjoy stealth-action games with historical settings and strong parkour mechanics. It's an excellent choice for those seeking a more focused adventure after the expansive recent AC titles.
Performance profile
October 2023 release. As a current-generation title, Assassin's Creed Mirage pushes modern hardware — expect to need an RTX 40-series or RX 7000-series GPU to enjoy it at native 4K Ultra without leaning on upscaling.
Assassin's Creed Mirage is a narrative-driven experience — a rock-solid 60 FPS is plenty. Prioritise resolution and image quality (AA, anisotropic filtering) over chasing high-refresh framerates.
Mid-range territory. An RTX 3060 or RX 6700 XT delivers 60 FPS at 1080p High in Assassin's Creed Mirage. For 1440p Ultra you'll want an RTX 4060 Ti / RX 7700 XT; 4K Ultra needs an RTX 4070 Ti or faster.
Storyline
In 861 CE Baghdad, a young street thief named Basim Ibn Ishaq scrapes by in the town of Anbar alongside his closest companion, Nehal. Haunted since childhood by disturbing visions of a monstrous jinni, Basim yearns for purpose beyond petty crime and sets his sights on joining the Hidden Ones, a secretive organization operating in the shadows. When he infiltrates the Caliph's palace to prove his worth and inadvertently triggers a devastating crackdown on the thieves of Anbar, Basim is forced to flee everything he has known. Taken under the wing of the stern Hidden One mentor Roshan, Basim trains at the mountain fortress of Alamut and eventually earns his place among their ranks. Dispatched to Baghdad to dismantle the influence of the Order of the Ancients, a powerful faction that has infiltrated the highest levels of the Caliphate, Basim hunts their members through the city's bustling districts. But as he closes in on the Order's leadership, unsettling connections between the ancient artifacts they seek and his own fractured memories begin to surface, pulling Basim toward a truth about his identity that threatens to reshape everything he believes.
