About
"Ben the Exorcist," released in 2017, is an action-adventure indie game that immerses players in a chilling narrative of supernatural occurrences. You play as Ben, an unknown exorcist, tasked with investigating the haunted Witherspoon house where spirits are wreaking havoc, scaring the family away. With unique mechanics involving faith, holy water, and a UV flashlight, the game stands out for its compelling blend of horror and adventure elements.
The game's performance is quite accessible, making it suitable for a wide range of systems. To achieve smooth gameplay at reasonable graphics settings, a minimum entry-level GPU with a score of around 800 is recommended. Players with 4 GB of RAM will be able to enjoy "Ben the Exorcist" comfortably, and those with mid-range GPUs can expect an impressive FPS performance, even in the more intense moments of ghostly encounters.
If you enjoy indie horror titles with engaging storylines, "Ben the Exorcist" is worth your time. Its blend of action and adventure, along with positive ratings, makes it a captivating choice for gamers looking to explore the supernatural world while keeping an eye on performance benchmarks.
Performance profile
July 2017 release. Ben the Exorcist was built around the GTX 10-series / RX Vega era. Current-gen mid-range cards (RTX 4060 / RX 7600) are overkill at 1080p and handle 1440p Ultra comfortably.
Ben the Exorcist is a narrative-driven experience — a rock-solid 60 FPS is plenty. Prioritise resolution and image quality (AA, anisotropic filtering) over chasing high-refresh framerates.
Extremely light — Ben the Exorcist runs at 60 FPS 1080p on any integrated GPU (Intel Iris Xe, AMD Radeon Graphics) or a decade-old discrete card like the GTX 1050. A current-gen RTX 4060 pushes 4K Ultra without effort.
Storyline
You are Ben, an unknown exorcist, who has been summoned to the Witherspoon house because of strange goings on that have frightened the family from their home. Stepping into the unknown to face ghosts and terrifying creatures, armed with faith, holy water and a UV flashlight, your job as Exorcist is to figure out why the spirits are angry, to seek out the hidden secrets that will finally put their souls rest and allow the Witherspoon family to return to their home. Are you afraid? Of course you are, but you are Ben the Exorcist.
