About
Blades of Time is a 2012 action-adventure game that follows Ayumi, a treasure hunter exploring a mysterious island filled with magical chaos and dangerous creatures. The game combines fast-paced combat with sword and gun mechanics, offering players a blend of action gameplay and exploration across a richly detailed fantasy world.
Running Blades of Time is quite accessible by modern standards, requiring just 2GB of RAM minimum and performing well on mid-range GPUs from the last decade. You can expect solid 60+ FPS performance on entry-level graphics cards, and higher refresh rates on more powerful hardware. The game scales nicely across different graphics settings, making it ideal for benchmark testing on older or budget-conscious systems without demanding top-tier performance.
With a 64/100 rating, Blades of Time offers decent entertainment for action-adventure fans but won't blow you away. If you enjoy treasure hunting narratives and don't mind slightly dated graphics, it's worth checking out, especially since it runs smoothly across a wide range of PC configurations.
Performance profile
March 2012 release. Blades of Time targets mid-2000s-to-early-2010s hardware — any modern entry-level GPU (GTX 1650 tier or newer integrated graphics) handles it at 1080p Ultra without breaking a sweat.
Blades of Time is a narrative-driven experience — a rock-solid 60 FPS is plenty. Prioritise resolution and image quality (AA, anisotropic filtering) over chasing high-refresh framerates.
Extremely light — Blades of Time runs at 60 FPS 1080p on any integrated GPU (Intel Iris Xe, AMD Radeon Graphics) or a decade-old discrete card like the GTX 1050. A current-gen RTX 4060 pushes 4K Ultra without effort.
Storyline
Ayumi, the gorgeous gun and sword-wielding treasure hunter, sets out on a journey to an ancient island in search of new adventures. While rich in bounty, the island is also filled with the magic of Chaos, being at the same time home to blood thirsty monsters. With a host of colorful characters, eye-popping visual appeal, tons of treasure and a huge variety of combat skills to master, Blades of Time will bring just as much fun and satisfaction both to gamers that are new to the action adventure genre and to experienced players.
