About

Cargo! The Quest for Gravity, released in 2011, is an action-adventure simulation game that stands out for its innovative, physics-driven gameplay. Players embark on a journey to solve missions in a colorful, sandbox environment filled with unique landscapes, from flying islands to underwater realms. The game encourages creativity, allowing players to design custom vehicles to complete challenges in diverse ways.

When it comes to PC performance, Cargo! is quite accessible and does not require high-end hardware. With only 1 GB of RAM and an entry-level GPU that scores around 200 points, this game can run smoothly on lower-tier graphics cards. For optimal FPS, players should consider GPUs in the budget range, ensuring stable performance and lower graphics settings do not hinder the experience.

If you enjoy simulation games that offer a blend of action and creativity, Cargo! The Quest for Gravity may still be worth your time, despite its mediocre rating of 45/100. While it may not be for everyone, the unique gameplay mechanics and sandbox mode provide an entertaining diversion for those ready to experiment with its physics-driven challenges.

Performance profile

April 2011 release. Cargo! The Quest for Gravity targets mid-2000s-to-early-2010s hardware — any modern entry-level GPU (GTX 1650 tier or newer integrated graphics) handles it at 1080p Ultra without breaking a sweat.

Simulation titles like Cargo! The Quest for Gravity are heavily CPU-dependent — physics, AI and world state dominate the frame budget. Prioritise a CPU with strong single-thread performance and fast RAM over raw GPU power.

Extremely light — Cargo! The Quest for Gravity runs at 60 FPS 1080p on any integrated GPU (Intel Iris Xe, AMD Radeon Graphics) or a decade-old discrete card like the GTX 1050. A current-gen RTX 4060 pushes 4K Ultra without effort.

Storyline

The Gods haven't looked too kindly on humanity and Earth, as we know it, has been reduced to a group of island archipelagos, populated by Buddies - pint-sized creatures, unbound by gravity's forces and free to float and frolic at their own whim and leisure. The Gods have given the Buddies free reign over these colorful islands for their own willy-nilly, topsy turvy pleasure. But, there is a way to stop them... fun is the secret ingredient that will ground the Buddies and return gravity to Earth. As one of Earth's last human survivors, it's up to you to dish out a healthy dose of amusement to restore order on Earth. Do you have what it takes to outwit the Buddies and win back the favor of the Gods?
