About
Control, released in 2019, is a supernatural third-person action-adventure game that has captured the attention of gamers with its unique blend of genres, combining elements of adventure and shooter mechanics. Set within the eerie world of the Federal Bureau of Control, players must master supernatural abilities while navigating dynamic environments and battling unpredictable foes. The game's distinctive narrative and atmospheric graphics make it a standout choice for those looking to dive into a compelling storyline.
From a PC performance standpoint, Control can be demanding on hardware, particularly when you want to push the graphics settings for an optimal experience. With a minimum GPU requirement of around 7946 and a CPU benchmark of approximately 559, gamers should consider a mid-tier GPU for a smoother frame rate. Depending on your setup, reaching around 60 FPS can require a more capable GPU, such as the Nvidia GTX 1060 or its AMD equivalent, especially if you're aiming to enhance the visual fidelity and overall gaming experience.
Ultimately, with a solid rating of 83/100, Control is a game worth playing, especially for fans of adventure and shooter genres. Its rich storytelling combined with engaging gameplay mechanics makes it a memorable experience that resonates with its audience, making it a must-try title for PC gamers.
Performance profile
August 2019 release. Control was built around the GTX 10-series / RX Vega era. Current-gen mid-range cards (RTX 4060 / RX 7600) are overkill at 1080p and handle 1440p Ultra comfortably.
Control is latency-sensitive: a high refresh-rate monitor (144 Hz+) and consistent 1% low framerate matter more than raw averages. Aim for a GPU that delivers 20–30% more headroom than the "just 60 FPS" tier to keep frame pacing smooth during intense fights.
Mid-range territory. An RTX 3060 or RX 6700 XT delivers 60 FPS at 1080p High in Control. For 1440p Ultra you'll want an RTX 4060 Ti / RX 7700 XT; 4K Ultra needs an RTX 4070 Ti or faster.
