About
Dig Island (2026) is a 4-player co-op digging game that blends resource management with adventure mechanics. Players dig progressively deeper into the island to discover new materials, upgrade their tools and equipment, and work together to repair a downed plane for escape. The cooperative gameplay loop and progression system have made it a standout title in the indie co-op space.
For PC performance, Dig Island is relatively accessible and doesn't demand cutting-edge hardware. The game runs smoothly on mid-range GPUs like the RTX 3060 or RX 6700, maintaining 60+ FPS at 1440p with high graphics settings. Budget-conscious players will see strong performance on even older GPUs, making it an excellent benchmark title for mid-tier systems looking to assess their gaming capability.
With a 97/100 rating, Dig Island is absolutely worth playing if you enjoy cooperative experiences or island survival gameplay. The engaging progression system and accessible performance requirements make it equally appealing for casual players and those looking for a rewarding group gaming experience.
Performance profile
January 2026 release. As a current-generation title, Dig Island pushes modern hardware — expect to need an RTX 40-series or RX 7000-series GPU to enjoy it at native 4K Ultra without leaning on upscaling.
Simulation titles like Dig Island are heavily CPU-dependent — physics, AI and world state dominate the frame budget. Prioritise a CPU with strong single-thread performance and fast RAM over raw GPU power.
High-end requirement. Dig Island needs an RTX 4070 Ti or RX 7800 XT for comfortable 1440p 60 FPS at High settings. 4K Ultra 60 FPS is flagship territory — RTX 4080 Super / RX 7900 XTX minimum without upscaling.
Storyline
Your journey begins with a plane crash. After watching your plane burst into flames and fall from the sky, you wake up on a tropical island filled with lush vegetation and hidden dangers. You are not entirely alone. A disabled old man, one of the island’s previous survivors, still lives here. Through his guidance and tasks, you learn the basics of survival while slowly uncovering the island’s mysterious past.
