About
Disintegration (2020) is an action-adventure game that blends real-time strategy elements with tactical gameplay. You play as Romer, an Integrated character leading a group of outlaws in rebellion against an oppressive regime. The game combines fast-paced combat with squad management, offering a unique gameplay experience that sets it apart from traditional action titles.
Running Disintegration is quite accessible for most gaming PCs. The game requires only an entry-level GPU with a benchmark score around 3902 and a CPU score of approximately 3185, making it easy to achieve solid FPS performance on budget hardware. With 8 GB of RAM minimum, you can expect smooth gameplay and stable frame rates across various graphics settings even on older mid-range systems.
If you enjoy action games with strategic depth, Disintegration is worth checking out despite its 66/100 rating. The game offers engaging squad-based combat that fans of tactical action titles will appreciate, and its modest performance requirements mean nearly any gaming PC can handle it.
Performance profile
Released in June 2020, Disintegration targets RTX 20/30-series and RX 6000-era hardware. A current mid-range GPU (RTX 4060 Ti / RX 7700 XT) is the sweet spot for 1440p Ultra; 4K needs a high-end card.
Disintegration is a narrative-driven experience — a rock-solid 60 FPS is plenty. Prioritise resolution and image quality (AA, anisotropic filtering) over chasing high-refresh framerates.
Entry-level hardware target. A GTX 1650 or RX 6500 XT reaches 60 FPS at 1080p Medium in Disintegration; an RTX 4060 comfortably sustains 1440p Ultra. 4K Ultra 60 FPS needs an RTX 4070 or better.
Storyline
In Earth’s near future, climate extremes, overpopulation, food shortages, and a global pandemic led to nations collapsing and humankind on the brink of extinction. Scientists adopted a means in which the human brain was removed and surgically encased into a robotic armature; a process known as Integration. It was meant to be a temporary solution to an unavoidable crisis. It was a good thing for decades, allowing humans to survive. But some of the Integrated saw this new form as the future of humanity. With no desire to reverse the process, the post-humanist Integrated stratified, calling themselves the Rayonne. Global war soon erupted, and Rayonne forces now seek to hunt down any remaining humans, forcing their integration, and destroying those who don’t share their views.
