About

Exile's End, released in 2015, is an action-adventure game that pays tribute to classic titles from the early 90s like Flashback and Another World. With a distinctive Japanese flair, players navigate through beautifully crafted environments, using both wits and weapons to uncover ancient secrets. The game stands out with its retro art style and an engaging soundtrack by renowned Japanese composers, appealing to fans of nostalgia and classic gaming.

In terms of PC performance, Exile's End is quite accessible, requiring only an entry-level GPU with a minimum score of around 200 to run effectively. With just 2 GB of RAM needed, even modest gaming setups can achieve smooth gameplay at satisfactory frame rates. Players can expect reasonable FPS across various graphics settings, making it easy for casual gamers to enjoy the experience without high-end hardware.

While Exile's End is rated 50/100, its unique blend of modern mechanics with retro graphics may resonate with players seeking a specific nostalgic feel. If you're a fan of action-adventure games and appreciate the charm of its design, it might be worth trying out, especially if you enjoy revisiting classic game styles.

Performance profile

Released in August 2015, Exile's End sits in the DirectX 11 generation. Comfortable on any modern mid-range GPU at 1440p; even an RTX 3050 or RX 6600 typically delivers 4K60 at High settings.

Action titles like Exile's End reward high framerates for visual clarity during combat. A mid-range modern GPU at 1440p 60–120 FPS is the practical sweet spot; VRR (G-Sync/FreeSync) smooths out drops during heavy effects.

Extremely light — Exile's End runs at 60 FPS 1080p on any integrated GPU (Intel Iris Xe, AMD Radeon Graphics) or a decade-old discrete card like the GTX 1050. A current-gen RTX 4060 pushes 4K Ultra without effort.

Storyline

"In the far future, a massive corporation called Ravenwood controls commerce on Earth and on numerous other worlds across the galaxy. They are not unlike a nation, with their own army, economy, and would-be government. When the son of Ravenwood’s president goes missing on a remote mining planet, and all contact with the miners’ colony is lost, a mercenary team is hastily assembled and sent out to determine just what happened. Among the members of this team is Jameson, an old soldier with a dark past he’s trying to forget. Just as the ship carrying Jameson and his team arrives, it experiences a catastrophic electrical failure and crash-lands upon the planet’s surface, with Jameson the only apparent survivor. Trying to reopen communications with the Ravenwood corporation, he comes across what’s left of the mining operations upon this desolate planetscape, and learns a truth far more sinister than he ever could have imagined..."
