About
Goodbye Deponia (2013) is a point-and-click adventure game that delivers chaotic humor and creative puzzle-solving. The indie title stands out for its witty writing and absurdist comedy, following the mishievous protagonist Rufus through multiple versions of himself causing mayhem across the dying planet Deponia. With an 82/100 rating, it's widely regarded as a solid entry in the adventure genre.
This game is extremely accessible from a performance standpoint, making it ideal for budget PC gaming or older systems. You'll easily achieve 60+ FPS on virtually any modern GPU, and even integrated graphics can handle it without difficulty. The 2GB RAM minimum requirement reflects how lightweight the experience is, meaning you can run it on entry-level hardware without adjusting graphics settings or worrying about benchmark performance issues.
If you enjoy clever writing and classic point-and-click adventure gameplay, Goodbye Deponia is absolutely worth playing. The combination of engaging puzzle design and laugh-out-loud dialogue makes it a standout indie title that doesn't demand cutting-edge PC hardware to enjoy.
Performance profile
Released in October 2013, Goodbye Deponia sits in the DirectX 11 generation. Comfortable on any modern mid-range GPU at 1440p; even an RTX 3050 or RX 6600 typically delivers 4K60 at High settings.
Goodbye Deponia is a narrative-driven experience — a rock-solid 60 FPS is plenty. Prioritise resolution and image quality (AA, anisotropic filtering) over chasing high-refresh framerates.
Extremely light — Goodbye Deponia runs at 60 FPS 1080p on any integrated GPU (Intel Iris Xe, AMD Radeon Graphics) or a decade-old discrete card like the GTX 1050. A current-gen RTX 4060 pushes 4K Ultra without effort.
