About
Heaven's Vault (2019) is a narrative-driven adventure game that stands out for its unique take on archaeological exploration. You'll examine ancient inscriptions, solve environmental puzzles, and piece together a forgotten civilization across the lost ruins of the Nebula. Developed by the creators of 80 Days, this indie title prioritizes storytelling and atmosphere over action, making it a distinctive entry in the adventure genre.
The game is notably accessible from a performance standpoint, requiring only entry-level GPU hardware to run smoothly. With a minimum GPU score around 3902, most gaming PCs from the past several years will handle this title without issues. You can expect consistent 60+ FPS on medium graphics settings with integrated graphics or budget GPUs, and high-end systems will easily max out the visuals. Heaven's Vault doesn't demand intensive benchmark performance, making it ideal for exploring on various hardware configurations.
With a 70/100 rating, Heaven's Vault offers a solid experience for players who appreciate narrative-focused adventure games and don't mind slower-paced exploration. If archaeological mysteries and science-fiction storytelling appeal to you, it's worth considering despite being a lower-profile indie release.
Performance profile
April 2019 release. Heaven's Vault was built around the GTX 10-series / RX Vega era. Current-gen mid-range cards (RTX 4060 / RX 7600) are overkill at 1080p and handle 1440p Ultra comfortably.
Heaven's Vault is a narrative-driven experience — a rock-solid 60 FPS is plenty. Prioritise resolution and image quality (AA, anisotropic filtering) over chasing high-refresh framerates.
Entry-level hardware target. A GTX 1650 or RX 6500 XT reaches 60 FPS at 1080p Medium in Heaven's Vault; an RTX 4060 comfortably sustains 1440p Ultra. 4K Ultra 60 FPS needs an RTX 4070 or better.
Storyline
Aliya Elasra is an archaeologist, exploring a strange region of space called the Nebula with her robot sidekick Six, hoping to uncover the secrets of the long-forgotten past. When a roboticist from the University of Iox goes missing, Aliya begins a trail of discoveries that will lead to the very edge of her world - and the ancient secret of Heaven's Vault. Sail an open-world of fast flowing space-rivers, discover lost ruins, explore ancient sites, find artefacts and translate their strange hieroglyphics. Piece together the history of the world and an entire ancient language. From the creators of massively-branching interactive adventure 80 Days, Heaven's Vault is not your usual linear adventure game. Progress through the game in any order you choose - the game's fully adaptive narrative remembers every choice you make, every discovery and every action you take, influencing what happens next. Meet a diverse cast of characters who remember everything you say, and who's attitude to you will change with how you act. Some are friendly, some are cautious, and some are out to trick you. Who will you trust? What will you find? What will you learn? What will you risk? What will you lose?
