About
Hi-Fi Rush (2023) is a stylish action game that stands out for its unique rhythm-based combat system. You play as Chai, a wannabe rockstar fighting against a robotics corporation where every punch, enemy movement, and environmental detail syncs perfectly to the soundtrack. It's a creative blend of action and music gaming that earned an 86/100 rating for its inventive approach to combat mechanics.
The game is remarkably accessible for most PC gaming setups. You'll want at least an entry-level GPU with a benchmark score around 3428 and a CPU scoring roughly 4771 to hit stable FPS, though 8 GB of RAM is the baseline requirement. Even modest mid-range graphics cards handle Hi-Fi Rush comfortably at high settings, making it ideal for benchmark testing on budget-friendly systems. Performance scales well, so you can expect solid frame rates even on older hardware.
If you enjoy action games with creativity and style, Hi-Fi Rush is absolutely worth playing. Its rhythm-driven gameplay offers something genuinely different from typical action titles, and the low hardware demands mean virtually any gamer can experience it smoothly.
Performance profile
January 2023 release. As a current-generation title, Hi-Fi Rush pushes modern hardware — expect to need an RTX 40-series or RX 7000-series GPU to enjoy it at native 4K Ultra without leaning on upscaling.
Action titles like Hi-Fi Rush reward high framerates for visual clarity during combat. A mid-range modern GPU at 1440p 60–120 FPS is the practical sweet spot; VRR (G-Sync/FreeSync) smooths out drops during heavy effects.
Entry-level hardware target. A GTX 1650 or RX 6500 XT reaches 60 FPS at 1080p Medium in Hi-Fi Rush; an RTX 4060 comfortably sustains 1440p Ultra. 4K Ultra 60 FPS needs an RTX 4070 or better.
Storyline
25-year-old Chai joins Project Armstrong, an experimental prosthetics program, at the robotics company Vandelay Technologies to realize his dream of being a rockstar. However, when his music player ends up implanted in his chest, the company labels him a defect! Alongside new allies, Chai must use his new musical powers to uncover a mysterious conspiracy within Vandelay's upper management.
