About
Homefront: The Revolution is an open-world first-person shooter released in 2016 that puts you in command of a resistance movement fighting against occupying military forces. The game emphasizes guerrilla warfare tactics in a living, breathing world that responds dynamically to your actions, allowing you to inspire civilians and spark a larger rebellion through your choices and combat decisions.
Running Homefront: The Revolution doesn't demand cutting-edge hardware, making it accessible to most PC gamers. The minimum GPU requirements sit around entry-level performance with a score of approximately 3078, while the CPU needs around 3131 points and at least 6 GB of RAM. With modern mid-range GPUs, you'll easily maintain solid FPS performance at high graphics settings, and even budget-friendly graphics cards can deliver smooth gameplay at lower preset configurations.
With a 63/100 rating, Homefront: The Revolution offers a competent action experience for fans of open-world shooters and resistance narratives. If you enjoy gameplay-focused first-person shooters with sandbox-style mission variety, it's worth exploring, especially since the modest hardware requirements mean benchmark testing across various GPU tiers is straightforward.
Performance profile
Released in May 2016, Homefront: The Revolution sits in the DirectX 11 generation. Comfortable on any modern mid-range GPU at 1440p; even an RTX 3050 or RX 6600 typically delivers 4K60 at High settings.
Homefront: The Revolution is a narrative-driven experience — a rock-solid 60 FPS is plenty. Prioritise resolution and image quality (AA, anisotropic filtering) over chasing high-refresh framerates.
Entry-level hardware target. A GTX 1650 or RX 6500 XT reaches 60 FPS at 1080p Medium in Homefront: The Revolution; an RTX 4060 comfortably sustains 1440p Ultra. 4K Ultra 60 FPS needs an RTX 4070 or better.
Storyline
Four years into the brutal military occupation, America is on its knees. Philadelphia - once the birthplace of Independence - has become a ghetto, where surveillance drones and armoured patrols keep the population at heel, crushing any dissent with savage force. Her once-proud citizens live in a police state, forced to collaborate just to survive, their dreams of freedom long since extinguished. But in the badlands of the Red Zone, in the bombed out streets and abandoned subways, a Resistance is forming. A guerrilla force, determined to fight for their freedoms despite overwhelming odds and ignite the second American Revolution. But Freedom always has a price…
