About

Hypertrain, released in 2019, is a unique blend of action, indie, racing, and simulation genres that offers players a high-speed bullet train experience. Set in a world where speed is survival, the game challenges players to navigate through various environments while managing their train’s speed and resources. Its notable emphasis on simulation elements sets it apart from typical racing titles and provides a fresh take on the action genre.

For those looking to run Hypertrain smoothly, the game is quite accessible in terms of hardware requirements. With a minimum GPU requirement of an entry-level card (approximately scoring 2594), players can expect reasonable performance on modest systems. In terms of benchmarks, achieving a decent FPS will vary based on graphics settings, but even basic setups with 4 GB RAM will manage to keep the gameplay fluid, making it a suitable option for budget-conscious gamers.

Considering its 70/100 rating, Hypertrain is a solid choice for fans of the racing and simulation genres seeking an engaging experience. If you appreciate games that combine speed and strategy in a unique setting, Hypertrain is worth exploring, especially for those with modest gaming setups.

Performance profile

February 2019 release. Hypertrain was built around the GTX 10-series / RX Vega era. Current-gen mid-range cards (RTX 4060 / RX 7600) are overkill at 1080p and handle 1440p Ultra comfortably.

Simulation titles like Hypertrain are heavily CPU-dependent — physics, AI and world state dominate the frame budget. Prioritise a CPU with strong single-thread performance and fast RAM over raw GPU power.

Entry-level hardware target. A GTX 1650 or RX 6500 XT reaches 60 FPS at 1080p Medium in Hypertrain; an RTX 4060 comfortably sustains 1440p Ultra. 4K Ultra 60 FPS needs an RTX 4070 or better.

Storyline

Control a high-speed bullet train (going 1000 kmph) across a dangerous rail network consisting of crazy loopings, corkscrews, high altitude, huge drops and such. Work as an honest transporter and earn your income by transporting goods and people between cities while defending yourself against packs of Marauders. Use your cash to upgrade your train with more wagons and abilities. Claim and upgrade cities to boost your income. Or ... choose the pirate path and rob your way towards victory! The first hypertrain to reach 50 wagons wins.
