About

Katamari Damacy Reroll is a quirky action game released in 2018 that brings the cult classic to modern PCs in full HD. You play as the Prince of Cosmos, tasked with rolling an ever-growing ball to collect objects and restore the stars after your father accidentally destroys them. This casual action title stands out for its absurdist humor, colorful visuals, and genuinely unique gameplay that remains fun whether you're playing at home or taking it on the go.

The game is highly accessible on PC hardware, requiring only an entry-level GPU with a benchmark score around 3302 to hit playable FPS targets. With minimum specs of just 4GB RAM and a CPU score of 2083, Katamari Damacy Reroll runs smoothly on modest systems without demanding high-end graphics cards. Most modern GPUs will easily maintain 60 FPS or higher, making it an ideal title for budget gaming PCs or laptops.

With an 83/100 rating, Katamari Damacy Reroll is worth experiencing if you enjoy action games with personality and unconventional gameplay. The low performance requirements mean virtually any gamer can enjoy this delightfully weird adventure without worrying about benchmark scores or expensive hardware upgrades.

Performance profile

December 2018 release. Katamari Damacy Reroll was built around the GTX 10-series / RX Vega era. Current-gen mid-range cards (RTX 4060 / RX 7600) are overkill at 1080p and handle 1440p Ultra comfortably.

Action titles like Katamari Damacy Reroll reward high framerates for visual clarity during combat. A mid-range modern GPU at 1440p 60–120 FPS is the practical sweet spot; VRR (G-Sync/FreeSync) smooths out drops during heavy effects.

Extremely light — Katamari Damacy Reroll runs at 60 FPS 1080p on any integrated GPU (Intel Iris Xe, AMD Radeon Graphics) or a decade-old discrete card like the GTX 1050. A current-gen RTX 4060 pushes 4K Ultra without effort.

Storyline

In a drunken stupor, an eccentric, god-like entity called the King of All Cosmos destroys all the stars, Earth's Moon and other such celestial bodies in the universe, save for Earth itself. Despite acknowledging his mistake, the King charges his 5-centimeter-tall son, the Prince, to go to Earth with a "katamari"—a magical ball that allows anything smaller than it to stick to it and make it grow—and collect enough material for him to recreate the stars and the Moon. The Prince is successful, and the universe is returned to normal. A side-story follows the Hoshino family as the Prince works at his tasks. The father, an astronaut, is unable to go to the moon after it is wiped out by the King, and the daughter, whose name is Michiru, "senses" the Prince's work—she can feel when each constellation returns to the sky. Ultimately, the family, along with their house and town, are rolled up in the katamari that is used to remake the moon.
