About
Liquidators, released in 2020, is an indie adventure simulation game set in the aftermath of the Chernobyl disaster in 1986. Players step into the shoes of three brave nuclear plant workers tasked with preventing a catastrophic radioactive fallout that could threaten half of Europe. The game's narrative intensity, combined with its unique historical context, makes it a notable entry in the adventure genre.
In terms of PC performance, Liquidators is relatively accessible, designed to run well on entry-level hardware. The minimum GPU requirement sits around a score of 5527, meaning players can expect smooth FPS even with basic configurations. With a recommended 8 GB of RAM, players on mid-tier GPUs should expect to fine-tune their graphics settings to maximize performance while enjoying a stable gameplay experience.
If you appreciate narrative-driven games with historical themes, Liquidators is worth your time. With its compelling story and engaging gameplay mechanics, it garners positive ratings and presents a unique perspective that adventure game enthusiasts will likely enjoy.
Performance profile
Released in September 2020, Liquidators targets RTX 20/30-series and RX 6000-era hardware. A current mid-range GPU (RTX 4060 Ti / RX 7700 XT) is the sweet spot for 1440p Ultra; 4K needs a high-end card.
Simulation titles like Liquidators are heavily CPU-dependent — physics, AI and world state dominate the frame budget. Prioritise a CPU with strong single-thread performance and fast RAM over raw GPU power.
Entry-level hardware target. A GTX 1650 or RX 6500 XT reaches 60 FPS at 1080p Medium in Liquidators; an RTX 4060 comfortably sustains 1440p Ultra. 4K Ultra 60 FPS needs an RTX 4070 or better.
Storyline
Alexei Ananenko, Valeri Bezpalov, and Boris Baranov. These three men are the only reason the Chernobyl disaster didn’t devastate all of Europe for generations to come, and Liquidators is the only game that lets players experience how each of them managed to contain this nuclear catastrophe. You traverse the radioactive bowels of the blast site, carefully orienting your every step based on the readings of your Geiger counter. Each liquidator has their own set of skills, from stamina to crawling in vents, that gives players a variety of ways to approach the hazardous challenges between them and the valves that will drain excess water destabilizing the reactor core. Whether they all make it out, or more importantly, succeed at all, is in your hands.
